I went into Seattle last night to see Patty Larkin. As I walked from my car to the venue I saw this woman that looked familiar on the street, and then I saw her again inside. She walked in front of me 3 or 4 times during the evening, but I couldn't figure out where I had see her before. As she was leaving, she spoke to an acquaintance of mine who had been sitting near me. I asked her the lady's name, and she said it was Jane. It took a few seconds, and then the light bulb went off. It was Susan's Jane! What was she doing in Seattle? I guess I always assumed she lives back east near Susan. We already know she has good taste in music since she works with Susan, but it's nice to see she is a fan of Patty's too. I can't either. I assume most folks who publish entire set lists have jotted down some notes. I know I always do... but not last night at the "Circle of Friends". I didn't want to distract myself (nor did I want to distract Susan as we were right up front/center and I often wonder what the performer thinks when he/she sees someone in the front row feverishly taking notes. Probably distracting to them to. So I refrained. And It must have helped because Susan performed flawlessly ;-) Susan loves performing at the Circle of Friends. When Jake introduced her he noted that she has done more shows at the Circle of Friends than anyone else who has performed there. And he said "it's because we love her". I have been to lots of venues over the years and I have to say that Jake gives the best introductions of any venue director I have seen. He has a great stage presence and should be a performer himself. Anyway... All around wonderful show. Set list similar - and different then the others that were posted this week. So just use your imagination! :-) Meth (a.k.a. Meredith) was Susan's stage assistant for the evening (but we didn't know it was you until too late so our apologies for not introducing ourselves). I'm so glad that we get to see Susan so often here on the east coast!
