Is there anyone on the list familiar with lyrics for "That's the Way Love Goes" - *not* the Janet Jackson song - written by Lefty Frizzell ? I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to find the complete lyrics for this tune. I know the chord progression and chorus lyrics, but I'd like the rest. Any help would be much appreciated. It is working "ok" if you're using 1024x768 resolution and the browser not full screen, or 800x600 and your browser full screen and you don't have 'large fonts' set or are using MSIE. > The icons on the right side do not fit on the screen and are not as >descriptive as they were under the old format. Yes, but the Javascript which switches the large, oversized type for the smaller text on mouseover is so cute... I have to agree, though, that "not as descriptive" is an understatement! The connection between "SW on Disk" and the mailing list was rather a challenging stretch for my brain tonight. (and the volume number linking to 'home'/the entry page escaped me until just now) Though, some of the new nav buttons *are* clever 'in jokes' - like 'andthensome' for the road postcards, etc., section. ... and that photo IS a great one!! Several of the new features are great additions - LInking tour dates to Mus-Cal is a great idea -- should always be very current. (but probably should be a direct, framed or new page link instead - - would be more clear) Sound bytes on the Albums pages is *great!!** As are the links to Susan's songs.com site for direct purchase of the CDs and listening to the RealAudio clips! *And* the lyrics. This section should definitely get more publicity/visibility on the site! (though the new window with forced size of 700x350 with no nav or tool bar is extremely annoying & likely a bit of a challenge for folks with their monitors at lower resolutions. ... I'd almost think the size was designed to fit into the frame on the susanwerner.com site). On the down-side, it is pretty hard to read either the songs.com or emerchant.com pages in their forced size. Particularly viewing the tshirt images. Plus, the emerch site (totally outside the control of the web design team, btw) STILL insists it has nothing in stock for any of the shirts. (I really would buy several if they were available) I certainly hope they aren't collecting $$ for allegedly listing SW merchandise! >When you go into any of the >other areas using the icons, the page does not fit on the screen and there >is no way to scroll down. I tried it with Netscape and Microsoft and it was >the same. It's just a variation on the problem with the old site design - those of us who do web design tend to be tech-heads and have large monitors and the latest in equipment ... and sometimes get caught up in a design concept, forgetting that the site visitors may not have the latest upgrades to everything (it was kinda embarassing when one of my clients wrote that a band photo on her site was so big she had to scroll the page to see it. ... it was nowhere near a full screen at my 'medium large' 1024x768 screen size!) Site design is a lot of work, and a joint venture (as I understand this latest revision was) is even more effort to coordinate. It's unfortunate, for all the effort involved, that the "accessibility"-related comments & questions from the last design didn't get taken into account. Site design is really building a store & concert hall for the 'product' musician -- and the store has to be open to anyone who stops by, or it is doing a disservice to the client. Then, again, a new look gets new attention. And the sound bytes, lyrics, and links to 'buy online now' are really good things! There doesn't seem to be any subtle webmaster contact info easily visible on the site ... The main point of a web site is to publicize the 'product' or 'subject', if you will. Susan Werner. Great voice. Great music. Great lyrics & grasp of the nuances of language. Communication. Anyone visiting www.susanwerner.com with any of the following characteristics *will not* be able to see a good portion of the site content or to navigate the site: 1. a communications tool which does not display graphics -- including handhelds, text browsers, and speaking browsers. The menu bar is totally graphical; there is no ALT text showing what each choice is. Frames confuse some readers (check out the accessibility analysis tool, Bobby) 2. a monitor which is set to a resolution below 800x600 (the title graphic is 650 pixels wide - and isn't even the entire screen width!) ... While most new monitors and video cards have this capability, the systems are generally not set to use them. ... and the menu text (big variety) is 150 pixels wide - that's nearly 25% of the width of an old 640 x 480 display... content? er, um .... that's the stuff off the left side of your screen! 3. no javascript capability - all the 'big/little' effect of the menu is accomplished by use of javascript (why are these titles so big? dunno - they don't do anything) And it should be remembered that people using school or library computers don't have the option of upgrading the hardware or the browser version. And that many members of the general public can't afford to upgrade computer gear, or don't see the reason if their computer 'works ok'. Not to mention that, while AOL's current browser IS MSIE, it has some default settings that can hinder viewing graphics or some effects. So the site might be saying that visitors with certain browsers don't need to learn about Susan's great music? Oh - and frames. ... go to your favorite part of the new site and then set a bookmark or favorite. Go elsewhere & then return to the bookmark. Did you get to the spot on the site you expected to? ... frames are nifty, but there are other design & html methods of getting the same effect -- and encouraging visitors' navigation and bookmarking. ... I'll be keeping Susan Werner as one of my 4 top musical influences on my site, and keep the link to www.susanwerner.com ... and hope that some folks actually go there & find their way to the sound clips & lyrics & get hooked!
