Susan has notoriously been imitating the various New York/New Jersey accents when she plays up here At the emerlin show, she spend some time doing her rendition of a New Yorker calling his wife ( i assume) well she tried ...."YO Evvveeelllyn" and we as the audience decided which borough she represented well here's the story, i was a clearwater volunteer last weekend which means early arrival, i took the train to the site and walked over a mile (cuz it was too early for festival transportation) crossing the parking lot, i see this guy. unpackin his car... shorts tank top baseball cap and I hear him start to yell " YO Evvveeelllyn" and i hear Susan's perfect accent in my head. without anyone around I start to giggle and think Susan has that accent to a tee, she must know this guy.. and it eased the fact that i walked over a mile in the heat and there was no one who really would understand maybe it was a Gutta be there moment... sharonG HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Jun 2000 07:00:55 -0700 (PDT) From: Laura Burgess Subject: Memory Quilt Book Survey Here are my Memory Quilt Survey answers: ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 1. Age? 31 2. Male or Female? female 3. Coupled up or Single? joyfully married for one year plus 4. Republican, Democrat, In Between? whoever stands for the issues that are important to me at the time of the election; but generally Democrat or Independent 5. Children? just one spoiled dog (woof!) 6. Favorite Music Genre? folk; some country, some pop, and a little of every other genre! 7. Do you prefer reading fiction, or non fiction? (Feel free to list any titles/authors that interest you.) Fiction, definitely; favorite authors are Dean Koontz and Mary Higgins Clark If you have a choice, will you email someone, or call them? (Which medium do you prefer - zapping communication across the net, or voice to voice via the phone?) Email most of the time; phone calls are for very special people whom I'd rather be with face-to-face but can't at the time 9. What magazine are you most likely to page through while sitting in the waiting room at your dentist's office? People or any women's mag 10. If you could be a part of any decade from the past, which would you choose? (Or if you were a part of a past decade, would you go back to any particular one?) The 40's (but without the War) 11. Sunscreen or tanning lotion? (Pale skin, lightly toasted or burnt?) lightly toasted--I get an incidental tan just from the amount of time I spend outside, but always sunscreen with a swimsuit! 12. Any hobbies? reading, music, and scrapbooking!!! 13. Name one thing, (anything you want) that absolutely fascinates you. The Titanic--I've been a "Titaniac" as long as I can remember; certainly before they found her on the ocean floor in 1986 (and long before the movie). I remember learning one of the old Titanic songs at Girl Scout camp when I was about 8 ("They built the ship Titanic, to sail the ocean blue...") 14. Best/Worst Movies you've ever seen? Favorites are "Titanic" (duh) and "Beauty and the Beast" The only movie I've ever had to get up and leave was "White Men Can't Jump" (too much language even for my 1980's-teenagehood-desensitized ears) 15. What makes a performance "stellar" in your opinion? Is it musicianship? Comedy? Political Statements? Choreography? Performer's awareness/inclusiveness of the audience? Musicianship combined with comedy and/or choreography will make a great show that I can enjoy; but when the performer and audience are "in tune," it makes a night you won't soon forget (like every SW concert I've ever attended!) 16. What is your shoe size? anywhere from 7.5 to 9, depending on the brand 17. College graduate? yes; Early Childhood Education from University of TN at Chattanooga 1990 18. Do you work for yourself, or for someone else? Teach in a preschool for someone else 19. Greatest fear for the future? What gets you worried? (i.e.: social security, medical insurance, gun violence, violence in general, you're running out of peanut butter and don't have time to stop at the grocery store this week...) Developing and maintaining financial stability for our future children 20. Vegetarian or Meat Eating? Hate most veggies but try to limit red meats most of the time 21. Religious denomination? Protestant (United Methodist) 22. How many hours per week, on average, do you spend online/watching t.v.? 14-21 of each, depending (when I'm on vacation, more computer and less TV!) 23. Is there life after death? Absolutely 24. If you could vacation to any spot on the globe, where would you go and why? Jerusalem--it's a place of such incredible history, as are several other places; but going there would make me feel more in touch with my Christian history and my creator (sorry about Jesus and all that, you know...:) 25. Sizzle or steak? no comment...:) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get Yahoo! If you have a choice, will you email someone, or call them? (Which medium do you prefer - zapping communication across the net, or voice to voice via the phone?) Depends on who I need to communicate with and what I need to communicate. Generally speaking, email for business and telephone for personal calls. 9. I find it fascinating how a simple melody or a simple lyric can change your emotion or inspire you or engerize you or relax you. 14. Best/Worst Movies you've ever seen? Best: Forest Gump Worst: The Untouchables 15. What makes a performance "stellar" in your opinion? Is it musicianship? Comedy? Political Statements? Choreography?
