Age: c) not quite the big 5-0 yet 2. Male or Female? Male 3. Coupled up or Single? Single - always 4. Republican, Democrat, In Between? In the UK all politicians are mindless jerks who can't find real jobs 5. Children? Crunchy on toast 6. Favorite Music Genre? Good music: I define what is good ! I suppose most of what I like can be described as folk-related or folk- derived. Have enjoyed Brel for more than 30 years, consider all-time favourite albums are the first CSN and the New York version of Dylan's Blood on the Tracks. As well as Susan I enjoy June Tabor, some Ute Lemper, Eva Cassidy, Heather Myles, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Carolyn Hester as favourite female singers. 7. Do you prefer reading fiction, or non fiction? Depends. As a curious person I enjoy hard science factual books, but enjoy fiction if there is an interesting, thought-provoking storyline. 8. If you have a choice, will you email someone, or call them? For long distance I prefer to telephone because even with a megaphone no-one would hear if I called them. But e-mail is fine for immediate, less-than-personal stuff. 9. What magazine are you most likely to page through while sitting in the waiting room at your dentist's office? Last week at the doctors I had the new editions of Country Music People, Q, Flight International and New Scientist. Does that spread of subjects confuse you ? 10. If you could be a part of any decade from the past, which would you choose? 1960s. Best music around, most interesting times. Sadly, using John Lennon's definition I "wasn't there" because i remember it all ! 11. Sunscreen or tanning lotion? Don't sunbathe 12. Any hobbies? File me under "complete geek". But only capable of playing records: and the Australian knocking sticks if pushed ! Does being owned by two ~16-year-old cats count as a hobby ? Or is that _their_ hobby ? 13. Name one thing, (anything you want), that absolutely fascinates you Does the existence of the Universe have any overall significance other than its (accidental ?) existence ? 14. Best/Worst Movies you've ever seen? Best - 2001, Contact Worst - Armageddon (in a class of its own as far as garbage goes) 15. What makes a performance "stellar" in your opinion? The artist being "on form" with that indescribable magic in the air that comes with only occasional performances. How can you describe that. Also the ability to make something like Wembley soccer stadium (~100,000 people) feel like a folk club as Dylan did his 1984 re-write of Tangled Up in Blue. 16. What is your shoe size? Our sizes are different in the UK - 12 17. College graduate? Yes - Open University (done in spare time while holding down a full- time job. 18. Do you work for yourself, or for someone else? Other people pay for my work, but I employ myself ! 19. Greatest fear for the future? Not dying 20. Vegetarian or Meat-eating? Meat-eating 21. Religious denomination? Life-long atheist 22. How many hours per week, on average, do you spend online/watching TV? On-line ~20-25 hours - mainly dowmnloading work-related data TV ~24 hours 23. Is there life after death? No. Although our House of Lords has been described as proof that there _is_ life after death. 24. If you could vacation to any spot on the globe, where would you go and why? Maybe Sydney or Canberra, Australia. Was there in 1991 for work briefly and fell in love with the country: a 3 weeks holiday there in 1994 just re-enforced the feelings. 25. Sizzle or steak? So, what does this mean ? All honest answers, but feed them into your collating computer and see what it comes up with !
