After a year and a half gap, Susan finally returned to Seattle. This was her last night of a three week road trip, and I think she was tired. Hopefully she's on her way home now to sleep in her own bed for a while. She played at a venue that wants to start booking more folk type concerts. The Paradox Theater is near the Univ. of Washington. It's a funky old theater, @200-250 capacity, which was perfect for Susan, whose attendance keeps growing with each visit. It was nice to finally hear the songs that I've only been reading about. I didn't write down the set list (or remove it from the stage after the show!), but it seemed to be about the same as the ones I've been seeing posted on the list. Ones that really stuck out to me? Dow Re Mi, for sure! And Misery/Happiness struck a nerve with everyone in my group. My husband and I went with 2 other couples who had never seen Susan yet. They had a wonderful time. I always offer a money back deal on their tickets if they don't enjoy a concert I recommend. I have yet to have to pay out any funds because of my wonderful taste in music!:) Susan was in fine form last night, though like I said, she was tired. She commented on how long the west coast is. She started out in Pasadena, near LA, then worked her way up, but backtracked one or two times. She had been in Texas before that. She felt her hair looked like Annette Benning's on acid. It was shorter than her last time in town, and is a good cut for her. She wore a black tank top, which is something we can't even wear during the summers much around here!!! Her wit and knowledge of local news and events is always impressive. She had 2 guitars with her, and a keyboard. I don't know which I like more. Her talent is just inspiring, and continues to get better, even though she started out near the top when I first saw her @1995. The word on her new CD is she hopes it will be done or available by the end of the year. No word on the shirts. I was able to wear a Believer pin that Suzie T. made and had the post office dash out to me. It was the only Believer pin that I know of in the crowd. I showed it to Susan, telling her who made it, and she recognized it as being the same as Ron Rosen's in LA. I think those two need to go lunch next time she goes to LA. Then she can sign Ron's set list. I hope she doesn't wait another year and a half before she returns to the west coast.
