Dave responded: >As good as the dinner was downstairs, if I thought my wife would have stood >for it, I would have gladly bypassed dinner (at the same price as the show) >and gone to both shows instead. The things we do for marital bliss!! Ha ha!! Understood. Oy, the things we do for our obsessions ... not only did we do both shows, but we did dinner too! Ack!!! Ah, well. The millenium comes but once every thousand years. :) >I'm glad you mentioned Jane's spaghetti strap evening gown. You're welcome. Your story about running into Jane on the street reminded me of one other thing I forgot to relate (how could I forget?!). After the second show, when the stage had been packed up and Jane was pulling the van around to load up, Susan was standing outside Serrano and a couple of late-show-goers said goodbye to her on their way home. One of them had requested "La Vie En Rose" during the show, but she hadn't performed it. Susan apologized for not getting to it, and then started singing it right there on the street! Random passers-by stopped to listen in awe. One guy with his jaw on the sidewalk was standing right in front of her, and she kept pausing and motioning to him as though he should join in before continuing on, while he just looked bewildered. It was pretty funny. The whole incident was rather surreal, but really, really cool too. Needless to say, the street rendition sounded great. :) >Sorry I didn't know you were there or I certainly would have introduced >myself. Or if I only had recieved my Believers pins!! I had my believers pin with me, but I had it stuck to my purse strap rather than mess up my sweater, so it wasn't very visible. Oh well. You may have seen me -- I was at the table right up smack in front of the stage, along with woj, Jeff Wasilko and our friend Valerie (now a new convert to the church of Werner ;). +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Jan 2000 21:45:51 -0500 From: fartachu Subject: Re: SW@New Years Eve when we last left our heroes, meredith exclaimed: >One of them had requested "La Vie En Rose" during the show, but she hadn't >performed it.
