I had toyed with the idea of making the 4 hour drive to see her but a night shift got in the way. I doubt I could have made it to Toronto by 11:30 (regardless of my tendencies to push the spedometer to it's limits). Your statement about not hearing "La Vie En Rose" made me only appreciate more the fact that she honoured that audience member's request at the Bull Run show this summer. It was callled out and she bowed her head and thought about it and then started into a beautiful rendition. I hadn't recalled hearing it the previous times I had seen her in New England ... I think I'd have remembered it, it was that powerful. I also got quite a giggle over the Barbie story. Quite a creative bunch we have here (one of the reasons I love this list). Anyway, here's hoping I can make the next Ark show !! ... Sorry About Jesus Barbie - Catholic School uniform, Bible - looks suspiciously like Molly Shannon from SNL. La Vie En Rose Barbie aka Edith Piaf - Hair in a french twist, smokes long black thin cigarettes, dresses all in black, wears very red lipstick, works for the French Resistance and sings in French with a pronounced vibrato. I think the MMG Barbie should actually be Barbie's little sister Kelly.
