(Besides, Packer coach Mike Holmgren is a pure SF 49er product.) I figured out where I saw the original reference: it's on Believer Kenni's website at http://kenni.com/susanwerner/SWevents.html According to Kenni, the game between the Packers and 'da Bears for which Susan sang the national anthem occurred on October 12, 1997 at Soldier Field in Chicago. I can just see Susan bantering with the audience about patriotism, the flag, and Chicago's idiosyncracies before breaking into song!! Still seeking authoritative word from on high as to whether this particular game was chosen deliberately because of My Mother's Garden. (I'm sure Jane would like to arrange for Susan to sing at a Flyers' game.) BTW, does anyone think it's ok to sing along with the national anthem at a Bears game? ;-)) What about dancing in the back of the end zone? You have about 15 tasks a year, then you're done!! And, since no one really listens to the anthem anyway, no one really knows if you screwed up!!! I'm a musician from the Tennessee area, and I met Susan at a gig in Knoxville last year. Since then, I've moved to the Philly area, and I wanted to talk to her about a show she has coming up in Bethlehem PA. Susan is playing in Ann Arbor on Sept 26th. I just wanted to add one more thing. Mariucci is a grreat guy and coach. He's a good friend of my parents who grew up with him. For my college graduation, Mariucci got Brett Farve to personally autograph a football for me. I wish Holmgren had gone back to the 'Niners because I don't think Mariucci is quite the winner he needs to be. Where is your home town and Susan's concert? If she is really a Packer fan, she will probably understand. BTW, your post came to me, but not to the list, which is believers@smoe.org. He jumped ship and is now at the Seahawks. But, yes you are correct, he is a Niners fan. That's where he coached before the Pack. Another note, the current Niners coach, Steve Mariucci was the quaterback coach for the Packers just 3 years ago. OK-now you are asking yourself why I know all this. I am the biggest Packer fan and found out recently that Susan is playing a concert in my home town on my birthday which just so happens to be the day I finally was able to obtain tickets to see a Packer game at the famous Lambeau Field. So I unfourtunately have to miss Susan's concert. Sorry if any of this bored anyone!
