My pins arrived today and they are fabulous! I expected something that looked homemade after The Bearded One's description of assembling the pins, but they look quite professional. The numbering on the back was a nice touch, too. Now, I just need to wait for a concert within a four-hour drive of here... In the meantime, perhaps I'll wear one around the house to see if fellow family members will identify me as a Believer and strike up a conversation with me! :) Thanks to the Bearded One and to everyone who has participated in the discussion and design of our Believer pins. Hi! Sherlyn forwarded: >>A warning to those of you heading to Falcon Ridge this weekend -- if you >>don't like to be wet, I'd recommend bringing an umbrella and other >>assorted wetness-eliminators. Weather Underground is forecasting >>thunderstorms all weekend. While I'm certainly not going to dissuade anyone from being prepared (I know I'm going to be bringing raingear), I do want to perhaps dispel any panic by pointing out that in weatherspeak, "scattered thunderstorms" means just that. There's a chance of storms, but it's not like they're forecasting a washout or anything. Now, if there were a tropical storm heading our way, I'd be worried... I'm more worried about the heat. Bring water, folks, and lots of it! And when you hear the "IIIIIIIIIIIIIICEEEEE" guy, find him and buy! +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Jul 1999 21:49:51 -0400 (EDT) From: Laura Burgess Subject: Singing Along Hi All! Me personally, I love to sing along and can't help myself from doing so--it's part of who I am and part of my enjoyment of the music. HOWEVER, I understand that it annoys a lot of people, so I do it quietly and under my breath whenever I am around people who might be bothered. How's THAT for a diplomatic answer? Apologies for the cross-posting and mostly off-topic content, but I'm hoping that this will be of interest to some here. I have been working with my friend Chuck Stipak, whose idea all this was, to put together an outdoor concert performance to benefit two charities in Danbury, Connecticut. ectofest '99 will take place on Saturday, September 4, 1999 from noon to 7 pm. All proceeds will benefit the Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury, and the Women's Center of Greater Danbury. So far, the list of performers includes: Rob Brereton Drama Chick The Ectoplasms Happy Rhodes Rachael Sage Sloan Wainwright ... with others to be announced. All the details can be found at . I hope those of you in the area can add this event to your Labor Day weekend plans. Thanks for your attention - I now return you to your regularly scheduled list. :) +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com ------------------------------ Date: 21 Jul 99 23:52:30 EDT From: Angie Subject: re: Singing Along lotsa people wrote lotsa stuff: Well...
