Despite a disappointing turnout of less than 200 people the show,in the Nassau Street Presbetyrian church (which has great acoustics), was outstanding. Susan opened the show and played for just over an hour. Set list as follows: (** new song- title uncertain **) Flying Dreams Gotta See the Body The Year of the Bad President Bring Round the Boat Time Between Trains Brazil Bodisattva and the Beamer Like Bonsai ** You Make Me Dream or (You Make Me Feel) ** Maybe If I Sang Cole Porter Movie of My Life Standing in My Own Way and as an encore Help After a brief intermission Ellis Paul and Friends ( Don Conscenti on guitar and Christopher Williams on percussion) played for about 1 1/4 hours. Since it was the first time I had seen or heard Ellis I was unfamiliar with the material. However the high point of his set were two (unamplified) acostic numbers he left the stage to play at the front row. The sond was so clear and loud in the church it was amazing. For an encore Ellis called Susan back to the stage and they did an acoustic (unamplified) version of the Neil Young song 'Comes a Time' with Conscenti at the piano. It was a great evening's entertainment for an important cause. Well, its 2:45 a.m. and I have to get up in 3 hrs for work. See you all later.
