Actually, it isn't a pin at all. There's a company that sells metal guitar picks, either stainless steel, silver, or gold. They'll engrave any logo or words on it that we want, and then put it on a 24 in. chain, so it's like a necklace. The full package, engraving & chain, for a stainless pick, is $15, which I think is reasonable. On their site they said that they do these for another bands fan club, so they can obviously turn out as many as we need. Let me know what you think. I personally like the idea. It would be easily identifyable, and kind of unique too. We could put some kind of SW logo on it, and then whatever words we vote on... "Believer", for instance. Keep in mind that they're the size of an actual guitar pick, so too many words wouldn't be legible. Anyway, just a thought... give me your feedback, either privately or through the list. But Alan Rowath, who manages the Folk_Music list, did go, and he took a LOT of pictures, which are now on his web site. I'm wondering if they will be easy to see from very far. I think the guitar pick idea is brilliant. Saves us from the debate about what words to put on the pin as only one or two will fit. AND, it is a classy and subtle way to announce our affliation with the list. Call me a snob, but I just couldn't see wearing a huge pin with SW's smirking face on my lapel. Too close to the scary merchendising that big music labels try to push on fans and performers alike. Then we'll see just how many we need to order. I would like to run the idea past Susan as well. I think it would be nice to get her approval. What do you think Bearded One? I know that the original pin idea was yours, and I'm not trying to muscle in on your territory, but when I ran across the guitar pick idea, I thought it was good enough to present to the list. I don't mind organizing this & doing the ordering and such. Also, because I've had a couple of emails from people concerned about wearing a necklace, as an option I guess you could always remove the chain & glue a pin on the back instead.
