Or do people who know her call her that? I haven't seen her in a loooong time, but when she was an undergrad at Iowa it seems we called her Sue (we lived in the same dorm). But that was, um, a while ago. ;) > Date: Mon, 22 Feb 1999 21:15:47 -4000 > From: "Charlie Sweeney" > Subject: this and that > > Hi all, > So, while I was trying to do my real job all weekend, y'all > were chattin' up here. For CD quality, consider mp3. I have encoding equipment and would be happy to lend any assistance. I know Songs.com has mp3s at http://mp3.songs.com (but no Susan ;-( ), so hopefully this wouldn't be too much of a political hot potato. If you don't know what mp3 is, you can find out more about it by going to http://www.mp3.com. Cheers, Earl Higgins http://ehiggins.com/susanwerner (<- there is some live Susan here!) I vote for something simple, like a picture of Susan and the word "believe".........maybe the Web-page address or the list address (or both) Sorry about Susan sounds seems too much of an "in Joke" to me, besides it reminds me of that Brooke Shield's TV Sit-Com. THERE'S a scary thought :-) And a big fat welcome to all the new Believer's on the list.......... It's great to see so many posts & new names popping up recently........ our plot to help Susan take over the world seems to be succeeding (not that she needs any help .......Svetlana Rules!) It might be nice if you would take a moment to introduce yourself to the list if you haven't done so already.......... we are a friendly bunch and we'd love to meet you. :-) As for the question of whether or not I'll be at the T-house on April 24th (for those of you who persist in talking *about* me instead of talking to me (Joe ...... Charlie-san.... remember I'm on the list too :-) I will probably take *myself* to the early show so that I can still catch most of the show even if we do end up working that night ....... Being in a working band is alot of fun most of the time but we unfortunately miss alot of other great shows due to work commitments... I try not to whine about it *too* much............ Of course, *try* being the operative word there..... Missing Cry Cry Cry was a tough one :-0 Oh, If you are in the area and you are interested in checking out Something Black (with our very own beardless one, Charlie) we are playing 6 times in the next 4 weeks. You can check the schedule at http://www.voicenet.com/~charlies Peace....... I'm sorry this is late in coming but I got home late sunday and just now had a minute to sit down and write down my thoughts ... First of all, the drive up to New London was great. More and more snow as we drove (left Boston in a downpour) and the stars were out and there was a lovely cresent moon. We got to The Four Corners Grille and got our seats - nice and centre and close to Susan. Tom and I also ran into Margaret, who we had met briefly at the show in Newport in December. Margaret ended up sitting at our table and we had a lovely time getting to know her. So before the show I head to the ladies room and who's there (in her "exclusive dressing room") but Susan. I know it's rude but I had to talk to her (we are the duck people ya know). I mentioned the irony of the fact that her only Canadian appearance was happening when I was in the states. I was so lucky that she did this thursday show. The first set was just wonderful (as described by many) and at intermission I headed back to the ladies room. This is where I turned into the completely unintentional bathroom stalker ... because she was there agian. Really Susan, if you are reading this, it was all a big coincidence. Anyway, I picked up the remaining cd that I had been missing (Live at the Tin Angel) and went back for the absolutley fabulous second set. After the show, we sent Margaret to get her cd signed and I got mine also and (fingers crossed that they turn out) a couple of pictures of Tom and I and Susan. She did seem pretty quick to get her arm around Tom though ;o) Sorry I didn't stand on a chair and yell out "which one is the bearded one". There were a few of you there and I didn't want to approach the wrong one and have to explain myself. If you are interested, I was the one at the table of three infront of, and back a bit from the stage with the big red head and adorable Margaret. I think, between us all we may have logged the most miles to get there. They are both from points in MA and I flew in from Toronto (if only there had been a door prize !!) A few of favourite parts ... when she did the bit about the hair behind the ear and the chest patting woman/man thing ... the asolutely wonderful "I Remember You" ... the "Late For The Dance" song ... got to hear "Got To See The Body" with the line "Bonneville outside the Four Corners Grille" (which is what we drove away in that night- oh the irony) ... making a new friend in a fellow believer ... getting to talk to Susan again and flattered that she remembered Tom and I ... oh, ya the entire first and second sets !! I'll be back to hear her soon !! ... It will be a classic! It has the somewhat hidden meaning (which will make us feel special :-}), the character and humor of Susan's face, and the objective info we want people to see. I'll be the 1st to order some. Whoever will be doing this, Thanks!
