The 4/17 TA show was listed when I was at the TA show on 2/12, and dkaskela@netaxs.com (dkaskela) posted: Tickets went on sale today for the SW shows on 4/17/99 @ the Tin Angel. There are two shows at 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $18.50 and the # is (215) 928-0770. Hope you can make it. I've met Charlie a few times and would like to meet more believers as well. I've come to know quite a few just from recognizing each other from previous shows. It would help if we did have some sort of identifier (whatever happened to the red Parker Fly pin?), but it can be kind of fun trying to meet other believers. You find yourself talking to others you otherwise wouldn't have approached. >> BTW: Those of you too shy to stick around after the shows, >> stick around. Tess Thanks again, Tess! That weekend actually works better because there is another function in the Philadelphia area that weekend I'd like to attend, too. Now, keep in mind that I've never been to Philly, not even through the airport, so I think it's time to start taking the hint and plan a trip! I'm glad I got warned about the Tin Angel -- I don't handle standing room style concerts well at all, unfortunately. So, can anyone tell me about the Temperance House? It's a long drive from Indianapolis, so the easier it is to attend, the more likely it is I'll make the trek. It's advance purchase only, and she always sells out there pretty quickly. And, unlike the Tin Angel which sounds a bit scary, the food is good and the wait staff is incredibly kind. Plus, the venue is so tiny, it's like getting a private SW concert. It's my favorite place to see her. (You can get the number off of the tour schedule on susanwerner.com) Odds and ends: 1. Loved the "Sorry About Susan Werner" transcription, though I've never truly apologized for my obsession. Does that make it an "unhealthy" obsession? 2. I'd say pins for I.D. to one another and bumperstickers for publicity. 3. >The Bearded One fonted: >>I'll do my best at a set list (others feel free to set me straight and >>fill in the blanks): >>The first one I never heard before. My guess is that the job of her managers / agents / record label people would be to officially discourage such things - they have a legal obligation to protect her Intellectual Property rights, etc. And god only knows what kinds of other considerations there might be... So I'm not sure she'd realistically be able to encourage the existence of a "bootleg" archive even if she herself loved the idea... Tell you what, though: I'll bet if Ron were to post a recording of himself (or someone else) singing his hilariously revised lyrics to "Sorry 'bout Jesus", nobody would complain...(hey Ron, how 'bout it?) I briefly spoke with Susan after a show once about how I wish more of her music was available on-line, and I also mentioned how much I enjoy playing her songs on my violin...her response was that I should put clips of my own home-made 4-track violin arrangements of her melodies on the Web. (...one of these days I might even get around to doing just that, if only I could do her music justice...) From what I've seen, Susan is genuinely supportive of others' creative impulses. Hey DeVayne! This is a first post for me as well. I too discovered Susan totally "by accident." I went to see Tish Hinojosa (with Sara Hickman) at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis MN. Susan opened the show, and I was as impressed as you were in Toronto. I usually have a strict rule about not asking for autographs, or even talking to artists, musicians, celebrities, etc. Whenever I break that rule, I usually end up feeling awkward, not knowing what to say, etc. Well, I broke my rule that evening, got Susan's autograph on her latest CD, and spoke a few minutes with her. She was genuinely friendly, easy-going and down-to-earth. I was really glad I took a chance and spoke with her. I was there with my six-year-old daughter, and Susan commented on my daughter's "really cool" shoes. Made my daughter's day! So those of you who have posted here saying that you don't quite feel comfortable talking to someone with loads of talent - I understand where you're coming from, but in Susan's case, you may want to make an exception. She said something about possibly being back in Minnesota sometime this fall, and I'm already looking forward to it. If anyone knows anything more specific than that, please let me know. Walter. Okay, I'll de-lurk for this one: I've been in love with Susan's music (and voice) for a few years now and haven't seen her live yet. To make matters worse, there's been this pattern of just missing her. The last couple times she was here in L.A. La Land I found out at the very last moment and couldn't get things together to go. March 26th will *finally* put an end to that pattern.
