I only wish I could hear Susan perform those songs I miss hearing them. I am a very big fan of all of Susan's work and I enjoy listening to it all. "At the risk of being rude", I like to hear the reasons for peoples favorites so please forgive my explanations. LOTGSG: The comment about "Some Other Town" sent me back to listen to it again. I hear class relations in there. I hear the tears, both kinds, from most of our hearts and some of our heads over our empathy and neglect for those out of our sight: some other town some other place some other eyes some other face some other tribe some other race lives in some other town I like Susan's lists. "Some Other Town" is on my yes list. Ironically it is followed by "Tappan Zee" which is probably her only song that sends shivers down my spine (as intended, I'm sure). I can't help but empathize with the groom-to-be. No, I have never been so jilted (thank god) and I know there is probably some form of poetic justice wrapped up in the song that appeals to the females in the audience. And I know some of you males list it as a favorite (don't know why). I agree it is very witty, very bright, very honest, very insightful, very Susan. She does it well. She does it great. Brrrrr. And I admit I enjoy seeing her perform it. I'd love to see her do it with a band with her playing that Hammond B3 organ. Masochism? "Yes to You" is on my hmmm? list. Yes to "Still Believe" because I want to and it is good to be reminded of that every once in a while. "no one here but me"; A nice syllabus to one of the great lessons that you can only really learn on your own. Yes. "Through the Glass": Brutally yes In my current mood, all those love songs, "Man I Used to Love", "St Mary's", "Something so Right", "Signing Your Name", "Much at All", pull me in all kinds of directions. They are all so different and sadly all so true, the range of life, love, and Susan's talent. They all make the yes list. Sorry. No "favorites". Is there any among us who can innocently cross the Tappan Zee ever again in our lives?
