The show will be downlinked to affiliates on Monday, Dec 7th at 9pm. Needless to say, the main topic of discussion was Susan's new album, "Time Between Trains". Check your public radio station schedules to see if they're carrying FM Odyssey. Is there anyone in the greater St. Louis area who would be interested in sharing a ride up to Macomb, IL December 13 to see Susan? I'll provide the vehicle (room for 5 including myself); we could split gas. Send me a message at ehiggins@ehiggins.com or ehiggins@cms-stl.com. Kaskela" Subject: TLA show 11/28 Just returned from the Philly TLA show. Fabulous! I've seen Susan perform several times before,(if you're interested see her guestbook, posting #70, for favorite memories) but this was the best show yet. With seats in the 7th row we could see and appreciate all the little expressions and nuances that make her live shows so much more than just "seeing" the music. I was enjoying the show too much to bother taking notes, but with the encore I think she did 21 songs. There were two new songs I hadn't heard including one about the Jersey shore (does anyone know the name?) Other songs included The Great Out There, Last of the Good Straight Girls, Maybe If I Sang Cole Porter, Society Ball (Just The Band), Ain't I Lonely Tonight, Like Bonsai, Petaluma Afternoon, Yes to You (Tappan Zee), Much at All, Old Mistake, Sorry About Jesus, Bring Round the Boat, Montgomery Street, Standing in My Own Way, and a poignant I'd Love You to Love Me. I know I missed a couple, but I'm 47, and you know what they say about the memory... at least I hope you do, cause I can't remember. Welcome home, Susan. Sorry you've got to leave again so soon. I guess I've got to wait till January for the Godfrey Daniel's, Allentown show to see her again. What a terrific show! Thanks for the memories!
