I don't know the recording business at all. It raises a weird question, though. If they could force Susan to hide a track, could they force her to leave one off, or include one? At some point, whose album is it? It just doesn't feel right to me that Susan didn't agree with this. Seems to me a record company would, if anything, force a conservative approach (don't hide tracks, we don't do that here), rather than a somewhat unorthodox one of hiding a track. Could it be that Susan agreed with the idea at the time, and now disagrees based on the warm response of fans to the song? I actually like it hidden, as I said. It's a fun surprise at the end. A little fortune cookie you aren't expecting. We may never know the full story unless Susan puts out the word to the list. I still love that song. It was back around the time she was also playing this great guitar instrumental piece she wrote called Hit The Gravel...let's see, and there was Boddhisattva...Don't Hang The Moon On Me...Sky...so many more... I keep waiting for her to put out a boxed set of CD's - there's too much great material as yet unrecorded... Meanwhile, "Time Between Trains" just keeps growing warmer & cozier the more I listen to it. And I rather enjoy the soothing pace throughout - it's a more mellow feel than I was expecting. In fact, I'm loving it. Montgomery Street - blast from the past! I first heard it in ' 95...just goes to show, you never know when a song'll be resurrected. Don't fret just because your favorite song hasn't made it onto one of her releases yet...start a campaign. Write to her management and tell 'em what you want to hear. Can't hurt. Tell 'em you want I Can Do That For You...or Lucky Shirt...or View At The Edge of the World...or Think and Run...or Got to See the Body...or Isabelle...geez I'd better stop or I'll just go on and on. - - Mary Ellen p.s. The Vincent song really "works" for me, much to my surprise. When I first heard that it was going to be on the CD, I thought "huh??? what??" But it glows. Susan made it hers, as she always does with a song. Grrrr part 2....Susan playing in Middleboro on Monday...probably 30 minutes away from me...and I'm pretty sure that I have a performance at the same exact time here at school... How well attended was her gig in Annapolis? I'm curious...I really enjoy the Ram's Head Tavern (and hey, i'm finally legal so I can enter without getting the manager's permission) and would have loved to have seen her there. I tried to get my sister to go but she was on duty at the boarding school where she teaches. I also tried to get a good friend who has LOTGSG but has never seen her live, but she went to her Alma Mater's Homecoming in Connecticut. I'm suffering withdrawal already...and it's only been one and a half weeks since i last saw her...*sigh*...I can never have too much of a good thing though (i know i know...i'm pretty selfish...all you poor people scattered all over the world [hey sherlyn!] and even just beyond the east coast who don't get to have Susan come by regularly)...I must hold on until i go home for thanksgiving and see her at the TLA in Philly.
