I view it as a fun treat for the listener. A playful song, an easter egg for the fans. Susan may have sensed your disagreement/disappointment that it was hidden, so talked about the producers. Susan used her standard Martin D-35's which always sound great as well as the Parker, which sounds terrific. Can anyone tell me if on the new album Susan is using the Parker on most of the songs. I notice in the credits, it says "Susan Werner Uses Parker Guitars". The Martins were not mentioned. Susan was outstanding as usual at the show! Mentions in credits are usually given in exchange for 'sponsorships' where the artists promotes the use of a product in exchange for getting it for a discount. - -j HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Nov 1998 20:03:32 -0500 From: "The Bearded One" Subject: Re: Vincent & Covers I just want to chime in on Vincent. I have to say I never really paid much attention to Vincent until TBT. While it was a song I grew up with, it just seemed to be one more of those psychedelic songs from an earlier (my) generation. For me, Susan's rendition made it humane, perhaps as it should have always been and perhaps was for others. I appreciate it as much now as I didn't before. IMHO Susan's covers are simply great. For me, she has always brought fresh new dimensions and I have to say they, live or recorded, always surpass the originals or any other rendition, live or recorded. Her range is both incredible and a delight to listen to. Just my strong, intelligent, informed, educated opinion. (-: For those who plan far ahead, look for her in southwest NH in the fall. Both Parker Fly and D'Addario supply product in return for Susan's endorsement. "Old Mistake" was, to the best of my knowledge, recorded using the Fly. It may have been used on other cuts as well.
