Christine Lavin was interviewed Saturday by WJFF...in the interview she plugs TBT and Susan fairly heavily (typical CL -- they call her to talk about her music and she ends up plugging Susan and Cheryl Wheeler and others). About TBT, CL says, "And finally she has made an album that shows off all the different styles of music she does so well." What >rubbish! Rubbish indeed! Internet rubbish most likely. On what basis would the reviwer have for making such a statement; "Born a Little Late"? Look at the venues she's playing. Look at who represents her. Look at her music compared to that of Christine Lavin, Cheryl Wheeler, Dar, Patty Larkin, Connie Kaldor, etc.. I'd say it fits in there quite nicely. I hate to be so possesive but some of us folkies want to be sure she knows she is just as welcome as all of the others. There is a new breed of performers (especially women) out there and they are some of the best to come through the circuit in quite some time. Susan is one of those at the top. Perhaps some of those "reviewers" end up sitting on the wrong side of the room, so they can't see the tongue stuck in her other cheek when she sings "Born a Little Late". (Must be hard to sing that way; just another indication of her incredible talent.)
