The friday night show at the Iron Horse was fantastic possibly the best I have seen, magical everything seemed perfect and high spirited, the audience though quite small was great and Susan seemed happy and strong....definitely on form. It seemed like she was having a blast.......the only disapointment was that there was another show after hers and we all had to clear out in a hurry. Lots of new great songs including a very dramatic "Movie of My life" that had me in stitches laughing, a few old fav's like "Ain't I lonely tonight" "Last of the Good Straight Girls" & "Tappen Zee" as well as an extended tangential "Baby Boomer Song". On Sunday the weather was perfect for an outdoor concert, unfortunately the introduction the MC gave of Susan left much to be desired, I thought it was insulting, anyways she played a great set though too short......she certainely upstaged the others who were also excellent. What a fun week-end I had. She tru;y is a bundle of talent. Moshkovitz" Subject: Susan on Sunday in Lincoln MA Hey, all! Just thought you might like to know what the Boston Herald had to say about yesterday's show featuring Susan, Ellis Paul, and David Wilcox (performing in exactly the wrong order, as far as I'm concerned): "Werner was the most sparkling, daring performer. True, some of her jazzy vocals were too jumpy and mannered. But her songs are sharp and concrete, her voice strong, her piano skilled. Yet her charm comes mainly from the way she reveals the foibles of her heart with elegant wit. Unlike some folks, she's no sap." The show was fantastic, although they had to time the perfomances so that the jets from the nearby airshow didn't interfere (where's Sideshow Bob when you need him?). Lastly, who's going to Newport on Friday night? Rock on!
