Heaton" Subject: Concert at West Goshen Township Did anyone catch Susan's concert at West Goshen Township on Sunday night? It was a beautiful night and a gorgeous little municipal park amidst the swing sets, playground sets, soccer games, softball games, walkers, roller bladers, etc., Susan put on a charming performance for the "baby boomer" set as she is fond of calling us over forty types. She did two sets and wore her sun glasses for the first set to be mysterious (and some other term I don't recall, perhaps inaccessible). Jay Scott did his usual excellent guitar work and offered a few self penned solo tunes. I don't know whether I had more fun listening to the music or watching the younger generation, i.e.. under 5 years old dance along with the music. It was quite a night for family entertainment and Susan had a good time changing the words to a few songs to ones that were PG7 rated. She did a good mix of I would say moderately new and very new material (although a few of the old songs from her first two recordings were played) that I had not heard before. She talked briefly about the new album that was just finished being recorded in Nashville, it is now scheduled to be released in September. She was a funny as ever, talking back and forth with the audience on several occasions and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself. I have heard her perform for over five years now, and this was the first time I ever heard her outdoors. It was very nice, although the sound was not always perfect the show was very good for community entertainment. In fact, Susan even joked that one of the perks of living in West Goshen was the free concerts. A few years ago I attempted to drive to one of these West Chester/Goshen concerts, but my car broke down and I ended up getting towed to a garage and missed the show. This time I made it in fine fashion, and things could not have been better.
