My understanding is that the production values (from a recording technology standpoint) are the highest standard that Nashville has to offer. Darryl Scott is the producer, and provides significant musica; back-up on various instruments. Darryl is one of the best in the business, both as a producer, and as a player. Although I haven't heard the CD myself, my understanding is that it will be somwhat more acoustic than LOTGSG. I'm sure there are still some surprizes waiting for us. > The article also quotes SW's mixed views about the internet and how > she didn't even own a computer. And although she has access to the list via Jane the Wonder Roadmnanger, I'm not sure that she would know how to run a PC. Jane has a laptop which she uses to communicate with me. `When I first approached Susan about doing this list, she looked at me like I had just landed from another galaxy. To her great credit she did call me back, and try to make sense of my suggestion. We were operating in different frames of reference. I was on six e-mail lists at the time (I now am on 30 and own 6), Susan had no idea what an e-mail discussion list was about. This was in March of 1997. In May of 1997 she made a casual remark at a gig to a mutual friend that she wished she could make better use of the internet and the friend said "call Charlie" and Susan said "Charlie who?" (Obviously, you will never see my name in Reader's Digest "My Most Memorable Character"). But we did get together, abd things did happen, and here we all are. `So the answer is that Susan is becoming more of a "believer" in the internet every day. The big question, how will that impact the sales of the new CD. Suggested strategies are welcome! Those who could be there would show up in person. Those of us around the world would be able to listen live in real time via RealAudio. Also, make sure fans could buy the CD on line through all the services, and listen to cuts on line. Also, post liner notes, pictures and text on the web.
