I've touched base with other believers who didn't know she was going to be near them in the near future. It might also make sense to include the links to her web pages as well. Keep up the good work. First, Susan had a great tour of the Northeast Kingdom last weekend. In addition to the great show at the Iron Horse which we already heard about, she was in Nashua, New Hampsha on Sataday (doing a benefit I think) and hob-nobbing with society ball types including an ex-governor (Was it Merrill, Sununu, Peterson, Bass, Gregg or Thompson?) All the others are dead I think.) I wasn't there but... I heard about it in Portland, Maine, at Raoul's Roadside Attraction. Quite a place and quite a show. She played a lot of her new stuff and a couple of great tunes I had not heard before. (Sorry, I didn't take notes.) Tappan Zee remains a great hit, especially with new comers. The show was a lot of fun. I'll bet I was the only believer there. Regarding t-shirts, buttons, hats etc... I will summarize suggestions and post as soon as I can find an hour or so to go through the comments. Sorry to be so slow at getting this done. Mom's got the big C, and it has taken a little extra time and energy lately. One more thought. On the way home from Portland, I thought of an old rock song that includes lyrics that go something like: "...I'm a believer, and I couldn't leave her if I tried..." (I could sing the tune but I don't know how to get that on the net via email. Actually I could enclose a Mac Sound file :-) Anyone remember that song (Charlie?). Well I thought it would be great if Susan would do a subtle hello to the "Believers" in the audience by singing a few lines of that song. I know she could do it. What do you say Susan? Give us a kick. Perhaps you could even do the whole song as a sing along. All right, enough insanity for now. Given Susan's current "When will I be loved?" theme I'm not so sure it fits in with her > design of the evening. Am I wrong? > Christopher I agree Christopher. Susan doing a "Monkees song" is a bit too kitschy for my taste. How about this old chestnut, recently covered by the Chairman of the Board. Lonely Town New York, New York Or a village in Iowa The only difference is the name If you're alone Whether on Main Street Or on Broadway If you're alone They are both the same A town's a lonely town When you pass through And there is no one waiting there for you Then it's a lonely town You wander up and down The crowds rush by A million faces pass before your eyes Still it's a lonely town Unless there's love A love that's shining Like a harbor light You're lost in the night Unless there's love The world's an empty place And every town's A lonely town Just a thought for a song. However, I'm just a regular ole Susan fan who subscribes to this list. I think it's cool that people on this list want to meet each other at Susan's venues, but maybe not so cool to create some sort of "inside joke/Secret Susan Society" that somehow segregates her fans into "haves and have-nots" or "those in the know" and the "know-nothings." Which reminds me of a Cole Porter song that was fodder for some very funny kitsch by Kelsey Grammer (Sideshow Bob) on the Simpsons. quisque tempore nos dice vale. Rob Piester (pardon my grammer amd/or conjugation) _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
