Dear Stephen, Just a note to say that you wrote a wonderful review of Susan's performance at Concord. You captured the atmosphere [and details] beautifully. I probably should post this to the list, and perhaps I will later, but in the meantime, I just wanted to thank you for your contribution. I look forward to meeting you at a future S.W. concert. I did meet Jeff (who provides the server for "believers") there Sat.night, but perhaps in the future more of us could try to figure out a way of identifying fellow "believers" before going to another local performance. Regards, - -- Rick P.S. I wonder if anyone taped her radio appearances on WUMB and WERS. That's probably another good reason to post this on the list! Did Susan do any songs on the radio that she didn't do in the concert? _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Susan was amazing in Concord. She just keeps getting better and better and I don't see how she does it, 'cause she's already the best....her voice, her songs, her instrumental virtuosity, everything. Plus it's a pleasure to hear her play when the sound is so nicely balanced & EQ'd. I still keep laughing out loud whenever I remember her joking about the fact that she doesn't really know what a Nightingale sounds like...picture her going "Caw! Caw! Caw!" She said for all she knows, that's what they really sound like. As an extra treat, I got to meet Jeff Wasilko, who hosts this mailing list on his server...Hi Jeff! See you soon I hope! Maybe @ the Northampton show??? If anyone has any, and would be willing to send them, I will provide the webpages. 2)how to recognize believers. Well, there the ones with the big smiles on their faces at least 2 weeks before a Susan show ;D Seriouly, the dar-listers know the solution to this problem. We need a list shirt. Any volunteers for the design? Again, I will provide webspace for the designs, but being graphically challenged, I will not be able to contribute beyond that. If someone could act as producer on this, that would be nice! 3)the new album-yes , it's coming but let me stress that there is no official word, or release date. This is right from the management team and Susan herself. There is no contract signed, but work is in progress, and the recording process is under way. That's the way it is in the business. FYI, there might not be an actual contract until the album hits the streets! 4)Does my archaic use of the term "album" date me? ;-) Your Friendly List Janitor, Charlie Sweeney (=}===# Virtual Guitarist-Something Black charlies@voicenet.com http://www.voicenet.com/~charlies Join Susan's maillist-"believers" at: http://www.voicenet.com/~charlies/swmail.htm Visit the links page for other Susan stuff http://www.voicenet.com/~charlies/sulinks.htm "Passion's always half impossibility the lovers that we lose we never dare to forget we visit them in mourning in December and in May in the graveyard of St Mary's of regret" .....Susan Werner - -************************************************************************************* - -This has been a posting from the Susan Werner "believers" list - -To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers"in the body of the message. - -To post to the list send mail to believers@smoe.org - -To reach a human, send to charlies@voicenet.com - -Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com - -************************************************************************************* ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Feb 1998 22:26:19 EST From: SonicDream@aol.com Subject: susan = amazing i just recently joined this group, and this is my first posting. it's not really important, just wanted to share my experience of discovering susan: i was driving to Border's books (in des moines, iowa) and found an article on susan, not knowing who she was i read it and it sounded great. so while i was at borders i looked for her c.d. and they had some. as i was deciding to if i would get it, i noticed they were bringing in some chairs and setting up a mircophone and speakers. i was going to leave soon, but i figured i'd ask to see who was going to be playing. they said "Susan Werner"!!!! so of course, i stayed and watched it. i automatically fell in love. after the show i talked to her for quite a long time, gushing about how amazed i was, and she signed my c.d. and we discussed music and even poetry for a bit (we both love nikki giovanni!). it was really great. i only own one c.d.; Last of the Good Straight Girls, and i listen to it constantly. i want to get all of the others, but i'm just a 16 year old who lives on allowance. she's going to be coming to a city about 3 hours from my home in march and i'm planning to go see her. i'm really excited. well, that's my lovely story. thanks for listening... love, alyson SonicDream@aol.com - -************************************************************************************* - -This has been a posting from the Susan Werner "believers" list - -To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers"in the body of the message. - -To post to the list send mail to believers@smoe.org - -To reach a human, send to charlies@voicenet.com - -Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com - -************************************************************************************* ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Feb 1998 23:53:02 EST From: Paul2k@aol.com Subject: just responding to posts Wow...look at that...almost 10 posts from this list in less than a week....amazing :) The last that I heard the Beemer song (i really have no idea how to spell the first part of the name other than phonetically....bo-di-sah-phuh) was back when she played at Amherst College in the fall of '96....granted, i've only seen her 3 times since then, but I guess i should remark that the setlists at all of those concerts since have been very similar, with a concentration on the new new stuff...in fact, i was surprised to see that she performed Long Time Between Trains up there in MA, which i think she was playing with as a title for her new album back at Falcon Ridge in '96, but I haven't heard since. I wish i was back at Amherst....i miss the Iron Horse (*sigh* the nields just played there, as did Patty Griffin)...for you believers going to see Susan there in March, try to get her loosened up a bit; buy her a round....she might pull some great stuff out for you....how many people here saw her at the Iron Horse when she performed the Aria from Bizet's Carmen? *hands raised* I'd give my right arm to have that experience again....then again, i'd give my left arm to experience her doing La Vie En Rose live... oh, welcome aboard, alyson....there isn't much traffic here, but that might change before the summer is upon us...i hope that if/when the new album arrives, Susan will be everywhere, from the radio to your local Borders :) Oh, i think i can one-up your quote in your AOL profile...."there are two types of people in this world : me, and everyone else" :) Paul "don't take me seriously...I don't" Kim - -************************************************************************************* - -This has been a posting from the Susan Werner "believers" list - -To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers"in the body of the message. - -To post to the list send mail to believers@smoe.org - -To reach a human, send to charlies@voicenet.com - -Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com - -************************************************************************************* ------------------------------ End of believers-digest V2 #18 ****************************** -************************************************************************************* -This has been a posting from the Susan Werner "believers" list -To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers-digest" in the body of the -message. -To post to the list send mail to believers@smoe.org -To reach a human, send to charlies@voicenet.com -Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at songs.com -*************************************************************************************
