Susan opened for Joan Armatrading and Richard Thompson in Berkeley sometime last year. I was actually disappointed at the reaction of the crowd. There were a few of us in the audience that had obviously come to see Susan. The rest seemed mainly polite - not that into it. I thought it was a good set with some very good songs. I was expecting the crowd to engage and realize how good she was, creating a legion of fans that would ensure lots more West Coast visits :-). I'm glad Dar got a good reception there, but she's been helped with some KFOG airplay, if I remember correctly.
