But of course they could have more ambition. Many bands start out playing covers as they work on their own stuff. It is really kind of an honor (to me anyway) that MB & Basia are being tributed by a younger generation of musicians. - -- Bev Okin-Larkin On 4/19/2010 2:52 AM, Krysia Szurek wrote: > Oh interesting. > But can anybody tell me if being a tribute band means only recording covers? > K. > > ---------------------------------------- > >> From: dutchmarc66@hotmail.com >> To: basia2@yahoogroups.com; basia@smoe.org >> Subject: American Smooth Jazz Awards / Katja Maria >> Date: Thu, 15 Apr 2010 23:05:10 +0200 >> >> >> American Smooth Jazz Awards voting started today! >> >> http://www.americansmoothjazzawards.com/main.html >> >> >> >> "A tribute to the music of Matt Bianco& Basia" >> >> http://www.myspace.com/mattsmoodmusic >> >> http://www.mattsmood.com/ >> > _________________________________________________________________ > Hotmail: Powerful Free email with security by Microsoft. > https://signup.live.com/signup.aspx?id=60969 > > - -- - -- Bev Okin-Larkin ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Apr 2010 07:07:49 -0700 (PDT) From: "marzenie_99@yahoo.com" Subject: Cleveland show! Hey midwestern Americans, guess what, we have a show!! Two actually! **The venue hasn't announced the show yet, this is from Danny** Sunday June 6th Nighttown http://www.nighttowncleveland.com/ There's going to be two shows that night. (times TBD) I'm a little nervous about their admission system, which sounds like it's just phone reservations- I like having a ticket- but I signed up for their Facebook and newsletter so I can be On It. I'd be happy to see her at a Burger King, but at the risk of being repetitive, I REALLY don't understand the concert business. Nighttown is a club/restaurant. I can't believe that there's not a promoter in town that knows how popular she is and isn't trying to book her in a theater. There's lots of really nice small venues that would be perfect for her. Cain Park would be awesome (we saw Fiona Apple there), as would the Allen or Ohio theaters in the theater district. But if this is it, it couldn't be much more convenient for us since Nighttown is about ten minutes from our house. - ----- Original Message ---- From: "marzenie_99@yahoo.com" To: basia2@yahoogroups.com; basia@smoe.org Sent: Mon, April 19, 2010 10:07:49 AM Subject: Cleveland show!
