So I've sent mine back on return and got one from a retailer on Amazon. I've got mine now - but anyone else who is looking should contact you THANKS! - -- Bev Okin-Larkin zzsazzsa@aol.com wrote: > I tried, without success, also.? Is there a way to call and order something from a store to be sent to you?? If so, I would use that number....from the way the guy was talking, it sounded like they have two different versions listed on their computers - but you are right, when I checked, I could only find one. > -Sheryl > > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Stephen Ylvisaker > To: basia@smoe.org > Sent: Fri, 3 Apr 2009 2:08 pm > Subject: Re: Basia at Borders > > > > > > > > > > > > I tried searching for that number at Borders Online, without success. > > Stephen > ----- Original Message ----- > *From:* zzsazzsa@aol.com > *To:* basia@smoe.org > *Sent:* Fri, 03 Apr 2009 15:13:21 -0400 > *Subject:* Basia at Borders > > > I just talked to the guy who found two copies in store for me last week - he > said that if ordered online, you should > get the bonus tracks as well..... > > he said the "binc" number is binc 9832385 and that should be used to give to > people when you call the store > to check or to order it online. > > I found a store somewhat close to me that has 4 copies - I can go this weekend > if anyone wants me to get them > one, but from what he is telling me, you should be able to order the one with > the extra tracks. > > I forgot who had gotten their CD from them already and it didn't have the > extra tracks - did you ever get that resolved??? > > -Sheryl > (keeping fingers crossed that visiting Olympic committee *likes* Chicago!) > > - -- - -- Bev Okin-Larkin ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Apr 2009 22:12:53 -0400 From: "Dennis J. Majewicz" Subject: Some impressions Well, I've been listening off and on for over a week now and I just wanted to put a few thoughts down on (virtual) paper. My first impression is that the CD feels a bit like an extension of The Sweetest Illusion. And that's not a bad thing at all. Sure there is much new on it but it has that feel for me. We all know that it was quite underpromoted. Who knows what would have happened if it was a smash and she kept recording? Were some of these songs already kicking around? Whatever the case, I'm very happy with ITGA and it was well worth the wait. (Was it really 15 years?) I also hear flashes of LWNY on it. Makes me happy. What I keep listening to: If Not Now Then When - Have you ever heard a more perfect beginning of a song or for that matter beginning of an album? That song just grabs me and won't let go. When I first got the CD I decided to pop it into the player in the car while I ran some errands. I was alone and could crank it up. Those opening lyrics, that sweet voice, Peter's guitar tapestry woven around Basia, the horn section, the rhythm, the whole package makes it just about my all time favorite track by her. And Paul Booth did a masterful job channeling Ronnie Ross. Man, it sounded like he was there in the studio. Blame It On The Summer - A perfect C-Jazz track. Great lyrics, ideal tempo, fine solo work by Danny. It's a track made for radio. I've heard it on Sirius on the car radio and the mix and processing sound great. It should have a long life on the smooth jazz playlists. It's a very enjoyable song. Oh Mama - I wish the lyrics were on the website. I'm having trouble with a few parts. It's an intriguiging song. The young lady's voice is a perfect match for Basia. There's a lot of feeling in the track, real or otherwise, and it's kind of haunting to me. I'm glad I got the Border's version. This track was totally unexpected and absolutely made the purchase worthwhile. Clear Horizon - I always like this song and I like it even more now. I had to compare the original to this new version and, while similar, the latest recording sounds better to me. It's a bit more up tempo and less, I don't know, clunky. I'm not sure how to describe it. It seems to flow better. Another pleasant surprise on the Border's release. Those are the tracks I'm drawn to. I will listen more to the others and I'm sure appreciate them more over time. Now, about that tour... Where did I get the lyrics for "Oh Mama?" Were they posted and then taken down? I have them but don't see them now on the lyrics page.... ummm.... anyone know? I will send them to you if you want Dennis. I have been thinking something like "more cowbells"... but with "more Peter !" I love his guitar playing and was hoping that there was even more on the CD. Thanks for all who sent thoughts about my brothers death. Life has interesting timing. I seriously thought about Basia overcoming the deaths in her life as I went through this time and I felt really strong. My family is very funny and there was much laughter in the eulogy about my brother. Thanks again, Thelma (who had a busy day learning of a son who will serve 2 years in Romania as a missionary) - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis J.
