Still funny to see. I believe it was from times before Basia was singing in the group (she was with them just for 2 years 1972-74). I have seen once some interview on TV with her (I believe that it was after Crear Horizon showed up) and there they also put some photos of Alibabki with her and it was than when I have heart Alibabki version of Dzien sie budzi (at least part of it). Greetings, Krysia Here is one with Basia, on ice skates: http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=goQKddnPJ7Y&feature=PlayList&p=4CFB54C3119A0BFF &index=15 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] __._,_.___ Messages in this topic (4) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic Messages | Files | Photos | Links | Database | Polls | Calendar MARKETPLACE From kitchen basics to easy recipes - join the Group from Kraft Foods Change settings via the Web (Yahoo! So the Alibabki you guys are watching, and the one on records, is the definitive lineup, so to speak, which Basia's Alibabki was a touring group mostly and not as.. known? I dunno if this is all true, all kinds of random crap pieced together and Babelfished through the years... don't take any of it as gospel! Does anyone from Poland of a certain age know ? ;) I think that I have an mp3 of Basia singing a song live in Alibabki. I found it on the old Napster ten years ago and if I can find it again (after the new year!) I should send it to a couple of you guys and see what you think. I'd be very shocked if it weren't her-- she even ad-libs in the same manner she has in her own songs. By listening to Alibabki (which is kind of interesting once you get used to it) I hear all these little things that sound like she learned there and adapted. It's pretty cool. :) Not to mention that they sang Bossas, and (i think) recorded the first Polish Ska song? Crazy! I have to find the link to that. - --Leslie - ----- Original Message ---- From: Krysia Szurek To: basia@smoe.org Sent: Sunday, December 21, 2008 1:16:01 PM Subject: RE: Alibabki Actually I still have doubts with the two Alibabki videos that you've sent Marcus. I can't remember to see Basia wearing glasses ever before. Although the girl on the first and second video seems to be the same and seems to have quite a big nose. But I remember that when I have seen Alibabki photos on that TV interview I could easily recognise her and she didn't have such a dark hair as the girl that is wearing glasses (actually I believe that Basia's natural hair is dark blond). Bought the christmas tree today :-) And already got all the presents - actually many of them are handmade by me, so I had to start much earlier - which seems a good idea anyway, cause I hate crowds during the last weekend before Christmas (and generally I try to avoid big shopping centers). Best wishes to all of you (Basia and Danny and all their loved ones too :-))!!! It must have been about 1998 or maybe early 99, when she was promoting "Clear Horizon". And on a TV morning programm there was an interview (maybe 10-15 minutes) with her by a TV presenter Jolanta Fajkowska. There were also showing some old photos of Alibabki with Basia for a moment and in the background there was Alibabki version of "Dzien sie budzi". I would say it was calm, I much more prefer the Basia live version, they gave some vibes to it ;-) But I was able to recognize Basia (that is why I have doubts about the ice skating video that Stephen sent) on the photos as well as recognize her voice. I strongly believe it must be somewher in my parents' home among all the old VHSs, cause I was recordnig anything that was anywhere about her (and believe me there were not too many things). So if I can manage to find it maybe we can cooperate with Marcus again - hahaha :D He would use his brilliant movie editing talents and I would add the subtitles :-) I'll search for it the next time I visit my parents.
