And it was Price, not Fame, who had the hit version of Randy Newman's "Simon Smith and his Amazing Dancing Bear." Also... did anyone see there was a new Basia CD that came out a couple of weeks ago? Unfortunately it was from Canadian singer Basia Bulat. I thought the music sounded pretty good, by the way, although I don't think she has much of a singing voice. They had a mid-sized UK hit with a song caleed "Rosetta"in 1971. They toured and played on a few TV shows together before Price had some solo sucess in 74 with "Jarrow Song" which was about a workers strike in the 20's. Jarrow is a district of Newcastle-on-Tyne and is Price's hometown. Georgie (Clive Platt) is still touring the jazz clubs to great acclaim. >----Original Message---- >From: steve7701@theriver.com >Date: 26/02/2008 2:16 >To: >Subj: Georgie and a new "Basia" CD > > >Don't believe Georgie Fame was ever in the Animals...however he was a pal of >Alan Price, who was in the Animals from the beginning, and they performed >together several times.
