Debating on going up for her late Oct. show at Sculler's in 'BAHSTIN'. John John, GO FOR IT!! I saw Sophie in August, at Yoshi's in Oakland, and loved her voice and singing style. She is more traditional jazz than smooth jazz, doing the "American Songbook," for the most part, but she does it so well, along with a couple of originals and a Russian song (She was born in Russia, moved to Israel, then to Canada). She also has a good band, led by the reed player. Synopsis: Sophie Milman has a LOT more going for her than just her looks. Stephen greyfell@gns2000.com "...decide...whether or not the goal is worth the risks involved. If it is, stop worrying....", and "Worry retards reaction and makes clear-cut decisions impossible." - Amelia Earhart, aviatrix. ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V12 #57 ***************************
