We are shipping our stuff in ABF pods across the country and it's going to sit in a storage yard for a couple months before the pods are shipped again to our new home, so I really need to pack these guys good. If I put them in a double-thick box and be sure to stand it upright (ie. the records are not flat) would this be enough? I know when people send me records in the mail they have hard cardboard on both sides to hold it solid, but I don't know if I'd need cardboard between each one because wouldn't their own stiffness hold each other straight safely? LDs are an unknown quantity to me because of the weird pressing-- at least the records are one piece! Moving sucks, by the way. I can't believe I have to do this twice. :-/ - -- Leslie O. http://www.basiaweb.com / http://www.myspace.com/leslieosborn Aim for the sky. Otherwise, best of luck moving. - -- Bev Okin-Larkin - ----- Original Message ---- From: Leslie Osborn To: basia@smoe.org Sent: Monday, February 19, 2007 3:50:17 PM Subject: OT: How to pack LPs, LDs Okay, waaaaaaaay off topic, but I need help: I have lots of vinyl albums and Matt has even more LDs. When I went in the Army back in 1977, they stored my stuff, and the storage area got flooded. A bunch of my records sat in two inches of water for who knows how long. What a mess. Treat them all asLP's, without cardboard between them. But, I would put an extra pieceof cardboard on each end. This is something I have to consider in a fewmonths.
