[Leslie Osborn Subject: More reasons why cancer needs to be stopped. I just found out today- cancer came back to my mom, and they can't help her. Tomorrow they tell my uncle the specifics (so he can tell me) but what they thought was an infection and the rise of mysterious blood clots was also cancer taking over her systems, most notably her lymphatic system. You know, they tell you this timeframe but I'm hoping it's going to be a big fat lie and I'll get this phonecall that it's all a big mistake. But they are awfully sure she is terminal. Even after all she's been through... it really pisses me off. Fuck cancer, man! How many of us lost parents this year, and then Tom...? I hope someday all these marathons and whatnot raise enough money to find the damn cure already. It just isn't fair. To add insult to injury she has to decide how worth it it may be to amputate her arm or to keep it. I mean really. (that is where the cancer originated and now this vile infection plus the cancer) My mom is awesome, you guys. You all would love her- she's hilarious and soulful and sweet and can do the umpteen shuffles commonly done in Detroit, lol. She's such a life force I can't imagine the world without her in it. We're all going home and are going to hang out with her and have as good a time as possible for as long as we need to. (I'll still be online- I have a freelance gig for five more weeks to slog through in spite of all this- damn it.) Thanks smoe for the vent, again. ;) - -- Leslie O. www.basiaweb.com / www.gruentransfer.com "Just when you expect jaunty jazz-coated melodies, 'Cruising For Bruising' kicks Side One off balance with a thunderous slab of mean-mutha rap metal spat from the very bowels of Hell itself."
