Subject: Tom Neill It's sad to bear some bad news. This message was just in my inbox: "Hi, The service for Tom will be at 11am Friday, August 25th at Roper & Sons at 4300 O St. Visitation: Thursday 2-9 pm at Roper & Sons Thank you for all of the calls, emails and support. Kelly" I've never before cried for a friend that I only know in our world of crudely rendered text over mere pixels. But we have been quite a group all these years and what we know about one another is so much more than that. Tom is one of those people that really sticks out in our community- his sense of humor is always what I think of most. He came up with some of the most hilarious posts and had a great point of view on music- and ALL music, from punk to more familiar ground. And talk about a fan- he was booting shows as early as 1988! That's about as close I came to ever meeting him, hearing the occasional comment on the KC Masterpiece ("That guy is a *great* piano player!"). Cancer needs to be stopped. Damn it. It's taken far too many of our best. - --Leslie Tired of spam? Yahoo!
