Thelma ==================================== Sorry for being so late in replying this e-mail since I've been quite busy in these recent days..... We're all OK in Semarang. I remember clearly that time, when the earthquake happened. I was still busy typing the church bulletin when suddenly, at about 5:45 A.M., the lamp dimmed in half a second then the electronic stabilizer rattled crazily. I thought it was just because of the voltage instability. But then, I felt the ground was shaking and I had a difficulty in balancing myself. I asked my eldest brother who was still having his breakfast, "Is it an earthquake?" He replied, "Maybe, go and check the bathroom for sure." I looked at the lamp having a kind of pendullum and I saw that it was swaying to everywhere. I also looked at the big clock with a big pendullum on it, it was still moving, and then I went to the bathroom to see the water surface. I did see that the water moved like the wave. I said to my brother, "Maybe Merapi volcano finally erupts after emmiting the hot clouds several weeks." But when I got many SMS from my friends in far away places, I began to ask myself that it couldn't be Merapi. It should be bigger than that. I had no time to check further because I had to go to work. Later, when I was doing my job, I got information that it came from the ocean and the area of Yogyakarta and some Central Java are badly damaged. The rest, I'm sure that all of you have known it since the news has been spreaded all around the world. Several hours later, I got the news that there are two more earthquakes happened in Wamena in the East and Padang in the West. In general, we're OK but of course our families in Yogyakarta and its surrounding are not so lucky. I got the news that one of our relatives had his house damaged almost completely but thank God, nobody was hurt. Czesc, Desianto F. W. Tired of spam? Yahoo!
