I don't watch it really, but my wife does. The girl who did it wasn't bad, but she's no Basia. Of course the best version of it ever is Basia's, so comparing this one to it is just wrong anyway. I just thought I'd share that little bit of info. Barry "Do not go where the path may lead. I get up at 5:50 to get my boys out the door to early morning seminary... I check the emails ... I listen to the scrapple song and smile but need my wonderful nerdy husband to open the other song.... the room is dark... "The Night.." starts and I start to cry (just like when I see Joh Kuhn's glass art) and I ask Lonnie if he wants to dance. We move back the computer chair and dance and I said "If she sang a song about dog poo I think I would still cry..." I just love that voice. Thanks so much for these songs, Danny. The way big ego in me wants to think of these songs as a birthday present. (21st) Just let me pretend.... shhhhh... Great song ! ! ! I am way grateful. Thanks... These are really interesting to listen to. I agree that Basia's singing has improved a lot - but then I thought it improved a lot between TSI and Matt's Mood. Her articulation is now much, much better, and I suspect that's Kevin's influence since his articulation on trumpet is excellent. The Night Is Still A Child shows either that Basia has learned better microphone technique or her recording engineers have learned more about using compression - or perhaps both. The tight vocals on Scrapple From The Apple are quite a surprise. These songs also show just what a revolution the Portastudio began. Thanks to you, Danny, for providing these, and to you, Leslie, for posting them. un abrazo, juan Leslie O. wrote: >... :-) > >http://www.basiaweb.com/files.html > > > > >-- Leslie O. >www.basiaweb.com / www.gruentransfer.com > >"Tell me when to go. I find this really interesting from the time you first mentioned it with Matt's Mood. I don't know enough about music to comment on it, but it's still intriguing to me. Though I think it's probably 99% her own influence ;) > The Night Is Still A Child shows either that Basia > has learned better > microphone technique or her recording engineers have > learned more about > using compression - or perhaps both.
