OMG! http://www.basiaweb.com/files.html Danny tells all about it here. Woot! I will avoid tainting anyone's perception until later when you all hear it and talk about it. I want you guys to be as wowed as I was and to listen without any prejudice! (apologies for those on the BWebUpdate list, you've read this next part already) Bronze was a supergroup of sorts, before they or anyone else knew it, with not only Danny (future member of Blue Rondo, Matt Bianco founder, Basia copilot) and Basia (herself!), but also the Ross brothers who formed Immaculate Fools (Andy most recently producing Martin Gretch), Jeff Rich who went on to play with Status Quo, and Warne Livesey who would be the future producer of bands like The The, Midnight Oil, Julian Cope and Jesus Jones among others. So this is a pretty cool slice of history for anyone who loves not only Basia but also UK pop and rock in general. And holy guacamole, *there's gonna be more!* See: http://www.basiaweb.com So there! Subject: Re: Bronze song! I'm glad to hear people are checking out the first track. I love Britfunk so this is right up my alley, and it's been getting close to earworm level the past couple days. Granted I don't quite get the lyrical premise (This same dude would write the lyric for the mighty Promises in six years-- so he too improves with age), and Basia sounds like she's really trying to conceal her accent during the verses, but she does a good job with the vocal and it's a pretty tight band they've got there, for real, good solos, the lot. The group had a lot of promise and considering this was a big sound at the time, I'm pretty surprised that they didn't get further. But really fate had bigger plans for everyone. Bear in mind that Basia and Danny (and probably most of the others) were pretty young at the time "No Cinderella" was recorded. After all, this project is how they met in the first place. :-) Next track, possibly on Tuesday, will be quite different from this one... - -- Leslie O. www.basiaweb.com / www.gruentransfer.com "Tell me when to go.
