I've NEVER considered him a baddass, and quite the contrary, he's a fairly devout Christian. I'm pretty sure he's done an acoustic version of the Lord's Prayer on one of his albums. These instrumental players like LC, Peter White, Earl Klugh, etc. bug me only because the names for their instrumental songs are so hard to remember. LC's Bubble shuffle? Room 320? couldn't hum a bar of either, but you can't have everything. I still remember how his band brought the house down when they broke into that infamous electric piano intro for Minute by Minute and stretched it out to 9 or 10 minutes before it was over. He was tearin' that acoustic 6 string up!! May he live and play for another couple decades or so. Started a new job since the beginning of the year. Quite exciting, so many new things to learn. The company has recruited large group of people and I've got along with them really well, so can say I got a bunch of new good coleagues (and I might even call friends some of them:) I am currently in training and will start the real job from April. The company is american one and they're sending us for the final part of the training to the States. Most of the time I'll spend in Memphis. I will also travel to New York for 3 days for customer visit - that makes me really excited. I wanted to ask if there is any Basia fan living in Memphis or not too far away. I would love to meet any of you if there is such an opportunity! Take care all, Krysia ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Mar 2006 20:09:03 -0500 From: "Lonnie Gunter" Subject: Re: Walking in Memphis :-) Welcome... Krysia. I wish I were closer to Memphis. I would love to meet you. Tonight I met some people from Poland and of course they knew of Basia and were surprised to hear that I was a fan... thinking her fans were only in Poland. They pronounced her name "chep ee lef ska." It was fun to hear it pronounced by someone from Poland. I told them about the Basia moment I had the other day. They are big fans also and said they owned her CD's. It was so neat to speak with them. There are some neat things to do around Knoxville, Tenn if you go to that area. I could drive up to there to meet you if you do come that far east.
