I first saw Larry open for Kenny Loggins in about 1978. Nobody had ever heard of the opening act, but he came out and played a really hot show with a smile on his face the whole night. He was even brought back for an encore, a non-planned one. He was playing hot and heavy during the encore, broke a string, and managed to keep playing away. He's been one of my guitar heroes ever since. Jim P. - -----Original Message----- From: Leslie O. Subject: OT: Working Week OMG-- talk about a tailor-made welcome home for yours truly. On the way back from the airport on Sunday, we stopped for lunch and there was a hole in the wall record shop. Hell yeah! I ended up scoring four Working Week singles, woot! And damn, are they ever good. This band just rips! Its happy fun jazz-pop, until they get completely jazzed out and the chops just explode. Instrumentals AND vocals, one single has Tracey Thorn, Stuart Matthewman and Annie Whitehead and Bosco DeOliviera. This is just one song!. Not to mention awesome Julie Roberts on lead for the later singles. Their stuff is so stinking hard to get, so I feel doubly lucky. I seriously have to blog this later, as I can get real wordy! I haven't been this excited about an old group since Blue Rondo. Anyone else a fan, or aware of them? - -- Leslie O. www.basiaweb.com / www.gruentransfer.com ""Swearing is an art form. His tour sponsor was Benson and Hedges cigarettes and they had hundrreds of packs of smokes in a big bin for you to grab and take home. My how times have changed I'll bet Kenny Loggins would be opening for him this time around!! I fist heard him play on Michael Franks' first album, The Art of Tea, and have followed him pretty much since. He came back to Little Rock several years later for an outdoor summer concert. Admission was $5, but we were out of town. I would LOVE to see him perform again before another stray bullet gets too close to him.
