Subject: OT It turns out that my mom has cancer. They don't think it's life threatening, but it's still scary as sh*t. It's in her arm, of all places, so she might lose part of it. I dunno, still some unknowns yet. But, at least it's contained. Thanks, you guys, for the emails. You rock, or samba as the case may be, hardcore. :-) - -- Leslie O. www.basiaweb.com / gruentransfer.com "It's going to come out when it's done, and it's going to have a bunch of songs on it." --Kirk Hammett of Metallica on the "new album" question __________________________________ Yahoo! Positive energy heading your way (and your mom's) from Missouri. I've been out of touch the past week with my own drama. My grandmother (wife's actually, but mine are long gone so she's mine now too) was taken to the ER last week with chest pains. She's had stents put in before, she got a third one last week. They've been trying to use the least invasive procedures possible, partially because she's 80. They put in a newer, more "high tech" stent this time. Then this week she had to be taken to the ER by helicopter (she lives an hour away from a good hospital). This time they discovered she has a condition that is usually only seen in infants. It's called duodenal stenosis. The duodenum (where the small intestine connects to the stomach) isn't as open as it should be. They can do an outpatient procedure to fix it, but they have to wait a few months. She's on some medication because of the stent and can't stop taking it now. She'll have to be off of it for a week before they can do this procedure. So for now she'll have to eat everything pureed or in some way soft enough to easily digest. We HOPE that's all for now. She went back home today and is moving in with her daughter and son-in-law after this. Their next goal is to move back closer to St. Louis. Long story but they're not where they're at now by choice. They hope to correct that within the next year. Let's hope everyone gets healthy soon. It sounds like we all need a break. Barry "Do not go where the path may lead. I'll be sending some of that energy right back to you-- I hope everything will be OK. Something is seriously up with the cosmos or something. It seems like I know a whole boatload of people dealing with similar stuff as we are right now...what is going on!? Gotta get my ticket back to the D, but I won't be offline-- my husband bought me a laptop. ^_^ I'm so lucky. So, remember those live dates and send me any more that anyone can remember (I need the diversion, LOL!) - --Leslie O. - --- Barry wrote: > > WOW!!
