As in, all of 'em. ["Leslie O." Subject: Live dates of the past. As in, all of 'em. 'kay guys, I need help! For BasiaWeb, I'm working compiling a list of all the live dates, ever, that Basia and Danny played either together or with Matt Bianco. Now, i have quite a bit: obviously the '05 dates, also the 1994 dates without venues, and the summer 1990 dates (thanks to Tom). But you'll notice on this list, that I'm missing loads of key info. For anything T&T-era, for example, it's a fog, even with my gargantuan archives (everything below has been verified by something in print). So, peruse, and if you know the missing details or details on shows that are not listed, holla. What I'm shooting for is: date, city, state/county/province, venue, opening act, sold out if applicable. Because this will be on BasiaWeb and effectively archived for posterity, I have to ask to please be sure of the accuracy of what you are contributing, look at a program or your ticket stub or something just to be sure. :-D What I'm going for in the end, sort of, will be something like this (grits teeth slightly at citing Simply Red as an exemplar) : http://www.simplyred.com/tour/tour.asp See how you can look up the various tours? It's kind of cool. And the idea is to hook the gig reports into the listings. Okay, here goes. I'll refrain from any Granny talk. ;-) Once I thought, how is it possible for family to not see each other for a long period of time? Now, I know how easily it happens: my brother lives in Boston, I live in the Bay Area and Mom's in Detroit. We practically need a spreadsheet to work it out, and it's only three of us! ;-) I can't imagine six. Between work and airfare, it's getting harder and harder to pull the holidays off. Prime example: bro is going home for thanksgiving, but we can't this year. Not cool. I wanna go home. My mom's in the hospital and I've been a wreck waiting for phone calls. It would be so much nicer to just be able to pop by... grumble...whose bright idea was it to move across the country? Oh yeah, MINE. :-( - -- Leslie O. When I heard that SG was opening for that tour, I was so not down. I was like, "eww, borrring, they're gonna suuuck!" (hey, I was a 16 year old brat/snob ;-) ) But damn if I wasn't totally knocked out by them. They kick the proverbial booty live. I was a convert. I'll never forget as long as I live, going to school the next Monday with my Basia shirt on (yeah, dorky, but I rocked it) and during art class, this other kid eyeballing me suspiciously. He was wearing a Spyro Gyra one. I about fell over, I had thought I was the only one who like that kind of music in my age group on Earth, let alone my school! He denounced Basia, said he went with his dad to see Spyro. Oh really? So we had a lively friendly debate. ;-) Good times... back when things were simpler! - -- Leslie O.
