Subject: Basia B-day - funny comment on Polish Radio I also join to the wishes, thought it was already week ago. I am pretty sure about the age as she was born the same year as my mother and I know when was my mother born :-) On September 30 when I was eating my breakfast and listening to the radio they have said: "Famous people celebrating their birthday today: ...Basia Trzetrzelewska, American singer with Polish origins" As far as I know she still considers herself to be Polish (correct me if I am wrong) and though she lives abroad it is UK not USA (again correct me if I ma wrong:-)) Take care, Krysia >From: "Leslie O." >Reply-To: basia@smoe.org >To: basia@smoe.org >Subject: RE: Happy Trzetrzelewska Day! >Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2005 12:30:24 -0700 (PDT) > > > > Whatever age she might actually be, she looks like > > she's 29. I contacted its mailing address & corrected the mistake even I asked them to visit our site but it seemed that they ignored me. Well, maybe they sneaked out thru the back door, checked our site, found that I am right, & then to conceal their stupid mistake, they did not say anything, even just a little thank you. ---- Czesc, Desianto F. Must play.... must play nowwww!' ;-) 'course, that would have been 'together again temporarily'. ;-) It's going to be so much fun when the Basia album comes out. - -- Leslie O. "Achoo! Furthermore, she lives in Poland part time! And she's only been the unofficial cultural ambassador for the past 20 years, taking the opportunity to big-up Poland any chance she got! 'Polish origins'... blimey, all you gotta do is hear her and see her and go, yes, that woman is definitely Polish! :-D ROTFL.... I mean, it's such a fundamental part of Basia that it cracks me up to see it overlooked! That's like saying, Shakira is of Latin origins. You think? LOL ;-) And come on, she's only the first Pole to break the US and Japanese pop charts and the most successful one thus far in pop music, period. Never mind the significance of her 1994 tour there! You'd think it would be obvious to any Polish radio station that such a statement is very very wrong. I have to say, WTF? 'kay, rant over. :-D Oh, Krysia, what year was your mom born? ;-) ;-) - -- Leslie O. "Achoo!
