Ambassador of Poland for Indonesia, Tomasz Lukaszuk (I hope I write his name right...), visits Semarang, my home town, today, August 19, 2005. The purpose of his visit is to have a partnership between Semarang and a city in Poland (probably Gdansk) in trade, city's development, and possibly art. Poland put its interests in the products of Central Java, such as textile, garments, and furnitures. On the other hand,Semarang has interests in having partnership with Poland in ship- building technology and probably electricity. In addition, I'm quite sure that this partnership would go to other aspects such as education, art, sister city programs, transportation systems, tourism, and other possible things for this partnership. To start the partnership, a direct on-line link between Semarang and a particular city in Poland will be established ASAP, so people having interests in this partnership would acquire an easier access to decide what each city needs, such as the right products, technology, etc.. My hope? Well, I wish it would work very well and give advantages for both sides. That's all that I can hope; I wouldn't hope for more 'cause I don't have right to hope beyond my capability... :-) Czesc, Desianto F.
