I feel so terrible in recent days; so hot in the daytime but so cold in the night right now in my place. This makes me feel tired quite easily; besides due to my daily works. One day, I listened to a radio station playing music for "brunch time", just to ease my aching head. Some songs were good, a few are excellent. But when it came to a particular song with a mix of Latin and Swing tunes, I became more aware. I waited, but then I was disappointed. The music was good but the vocal was totally awful! IMHO, it was too - Javanese usually says - hard, or harsh is maybe the correct term. It seems that the singer didn't realize that her voice is not suitable for that kind of music but she didn't care about that. As a matter of fact, I think she doesn't have a talent in singing at all, or at least, she would be good if she sings trash metal music. So, the vocal sounded as if as the singer were still learning to sing. And my dizzy head became worse just to listen to it. From that experience, I think not all singers are able to sing all music styles perfectly. Some voices are perfect in singing many styles but many of them are just perfect in singing just some particular styles. Sadly, many of them never realize this; as a result, many singers try to sing all kind of music as they like without considering their vocal capacity and quality. I used to think about this a long time ago and now I get one of the evidences. Looking at these days, I think we need more good singers who know how to sing and what kind of music that fit their voices well, since many people get headache and stressed quite easily now due to the heavy workload. After all, good music is one of many efective stress reliefs, isn't it? OK, that's all from me. Remembering that song again in writing this makes me dizzy again.... :-( Czesc, Desianto F. I watched the news that there is a severe heatwave there... ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Jul 2005 11:44:42 -0700 (PDT) From: "Leslie O." Then you have singers who use the difference in their voice to great effect-- playing off the contrast between their voice and the style of music. I'm trying to think of someone but I'm blanking.... hopefully someone knows what I mean. :-) - --Leslie O. - --- "Desianto F.
