Both are great songs, but Leon's is classic, universal, forever. Instead, I offer up my underrated Basia song, that which followed from the aforementioned underrated album Brave New Hope, "Come to Heaven", which has all of the rolling, ebulant melodies, gorgeous chord changes, and vocal talents our beloved songstress Basia T. posesses. Hearing her sing that song through MacIntosh electronics and a pair of Klipschorns, well, it sold a lot of stereo equipment in the middle 70's!! Especially with an Ortofon cartridge and Thorens arm. That's a bit much, don't you think? That's like saying no one can ever use the word "tender" or "melody" or something just because some very famous songs do. Come on... Thank God song titles can't be copywritten! - -- Leslie O. "It's not that it goes over people's heads, it's just that they f------ ducked. --Banksy's "Existencilism" Tired of spam? Yahoo! Odd, especially given that they aren't even the same title, they just share a word. My pick for underrated is Not An Angel. It's the only Basia song of my favorites that I've never seen her do live. It's also one of the few, if not the only song where she is being consciously sexy, and she does a great job of it. - --- "Leslie O." wrote: > > > Much as I love Basia's 'Masquerade', the title, > > which I realise is not copyrightable, > > interferes with the earlier Leon Russell song > > 'This Masquerade', which I regard as > > the the only song in this world or any other that > > can possess that word in a song title. > > Both are great songs, but Leon's is classic, > > universal, forever. > > That's a bit much, don't you think?
