We're really excited because we get to meet the mother record company (Concord) the main reason they're flying us out there is so they'll see us and put us out on another tour this summer, hopefully the Rippingtons which will be coming through Atlanta!!! thanks jane - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Leslie Osborn" To: Sent: Monday, April 25, 2005 3:10 PM Subject: RE: Sirius session > > --- Max Wellhouse wrote: > > > > In Minneapolis, MB/B took the stage right at 9PM. > > They were done by > > 10:50. I got there a few hours early and thought about finding a beach to visit but decided to just hang out in the back where the buses were and stand in the sun just to prove that I did go to Florida if only for a few hours... I had made bread for them again and someone had carried it in to give to the manager. I was standing away from the gate and Danny came out to go for a jog. He came over to me standing in the sun and said "Is that Thelma?" Perhaps he reads these post because he then said that I looked nice or lovely or something kind knowing how I feel about my looks. He said they would come out after the show and for me to be there around 45 minutes after the show. I mentioned that I brought more bread and he said with an appreciative voice "Yes, I know." I offered he throw it away if they did not like the other and he said "No, we cooked it in the toaster on the bus. It was good." The security guard had never heard her music so I went over to my little Ford Focus rental car and cranked up some music for him. It was a nice evening and the sound just added to the beauty. The Ruth Eckert Hall is very nice. There were about 1800 there that evening. I was on row 11 with some Basia fans on my right and some people with self applied adhesive on the left. Something was making them tight to their chairs. (It might have been money... money can do that to some people) It was fun to see the man next to me "loosen" up a bit and tapping uncontrollably by the end of the concert. Someone told me that the usual crowd has seats to all events and so many did not know Basia. I feel for their lives... The lighting was wonderful. They had the roving spots and would shine them into the audience. I know they could see who was "into" the music. It was fun. The crowd did not stand during "Time and Tide" but did after and after each of her old songs. After the concert a couple of people were waiting by the back gate and some left but a couple of nice ladies who had seen Peter and his mother on a Jazz cruise stayed. The ladies almost left. I had told them that Danny said he would come back and I thought "If Danny said he would come back... then he will come back." He and Basia did come back to greet the three of us. Basia was so sweet again to hug and hug me and once when she embraced me I held her to kindly whisper in her ear "Please don't ever make me wait that long again for your music." She blushed and said "I won't ." I said "Give me a date." She turned to Danny and ask him to which I just said "Please just don't make us wait too much." They said they would not wait too long. Danny gave me a sincere strong hug and said "Thelma, we really appreciate you coming. We need people like you." I say this because it may be the little touch of "gifts" that make them feel the most love and drive to continue. Basia kept telling me I was sweet because of something that I was doing for someone else that she participated in that I am not at liberty to mention now. I have a couple of the six children who might discredit the "sweet" image. I do have wonderful children... let me tell you all about them.... just kidding. It was a wonderful evening.... Oh, the rebel. *rolls eyes* That just drives me nuts, but I'm sure that I'm in for it too... Someone told me that > the usual crowd has seats to all events and so many > did not know Basia. The Ruth Eckerd has a membership system. They have a lot of everything from pop shows to plays to whatever, and members have all tickets. Actually, they are very cool. They approached me for ideas in getting people in the door and that's how we came up with the discount code that was on BasiaWeb. Hopefully people used it. I only wish the other venues were as proactive as the REH people were in getting butts in the seats. I would have loved to have found a way to get more people in Detroit, for instance. > She turned to Danny and ask > him to which I just said "Please just don't make us > wait too much." I'm all hearwarmed by all this good energy. Things have sucked royally IRL for me lately, and hearing/seeing all this cool fan stuff and how cool our heroes are, it just makes me feel like it can't be all that bad in the world after all. All warm and fuzzy-like, Leslie O. Tired of spam? Yahoo! If there's a way to "talk" to them, I'd like to ask them to do "Desafinado". I love the way they did to "Waters of March - Agua de Marco". Hopefully they would do at least one classic Bossa-Nova song in the next solo album. Czesc, Desianto F. W. (gotta look for "Lady in Red" .mp3 since the song reminds me to someone very special that makes my life so colorful....) Tired of spam? Yahoo!
