Yes she did have an amazing life - though strangely enough some of her "friends" are peeved that I chose to include so much history in my obituary - they missed the point that she had challenges yet her and my father accomplished so much. Glad you liked the shirt, I'll be wearing mine proudly on Thursday night. I hopefully will see them, as it is I am trying to get into an official meet and greet that is being sponsored by a local radio station. Cross your fingers for that one. Otherwise, I'll be looking for the stagedoor, and Geffen - patient spouse that she is, will be waiting and watching. Or maybe we will have another convert to Basia/MB! :) In any case, I am going. My mother took a real downturn the week I was supposed to leave for NYC with Thelma for the Joe's Pub concerts, really made me think that God was asking me to "stay" in town. So I did and worked on many things for her memorial: photos, programs, copying her poems. Now with this, I know I personally need to go to my concert... I've given what I could of myself to her as a good daughter, I have to have some time for myself. As always the folks here on smoe.org are wonderful and I appreciate all the expressions of prayer, sympathy and thoughts for my mother and my family. Sigh... and the weirdest side of people comes out during these sorts of times. When my grandpa was at the end, things got to the point where I was between sisters trying to keep them from claw each other's eyes out practically-- and I'm not such a big girl so it was rough! ;-) . And I was dodging Frappuchinos, most of which landed in my new Dooney & Bourke purse.. yeah, good times! Point is... people get wacky but it too shall pass.... no one can know how hard it's to write one until they have done it themselves... Besides, I thought it was interesting. They didn't let the circumstances stop them from doing anything it looked like! Many, most even, people would not have that resolve! And its cool that you wanted to share that with others. > I've given what I could of myself to her as a good > daughter, I have to > have some time for myself. AMEN.... take care of yourself! and, I really hope you and Geffen can accost them at the door at least! ;-) Sounds like a running MO for this tour, should work! > > As always the folks here on smoe.org are wonderful > and I appreciate all > the expressions of prayer, sympathy and thoughts for > my mother and my > family.
