E.g. the first line of > "Prayer of a Happy > Housewife": I have so misheard many Basia lyrics, or couldn't interpret. Then I'd see the written lyric and, when run through the Basia accent filter in my mind, it would then make total sense! Also she tends to use a few British expressions that I wouldn't get at first. Of other songs, Maysa does a version of "the Bottle" that I love. But since I moved to the North Bay I can't help but hear: "People in Novato People sho' nuff in Novato (Livin' in Novato)" (one of the more unlovely towns in Marin county) Or in "Face to Face" by Daft Punk, instead of a background lyric saying "Face to face, face to her now (or something, the guy garbles it a bit) I hear: "Christopher, Christopher now!" Man, even recently I thought the line in "Ronnie's Samba" was "love is back." Stll making the mental adjustment to 'it'. One can go for miles on this topic! Leslie O. Tired of spam? Yahoo! The House Of Blues has an open floor/dancing area in front of the stage, with bar stools/tables filling up the rest of the main floor. In the balcony were the seating tickets (more $$$, so the cheaper -standing room/bar stool only - tickets were closer). The hubby and I were close enough to the front of the line to stand right at the stage if we wanted, but I have heel spurs and had been on my motorcycle all day, so I wanted to sit and relax. We sat in the corner of the dancing area, where I could rotate sitting and standing as I pleased - with nobody's big ol' head in my way. I was tempted to make my way to the stage, since several times Basia would reach down and shake hands with the fans. Since we got in there late, the show started a 1/2 hour late. There was no opening act, which I was glad about cause I wasn't there to see "them" and had to get up early for work anyway. When she came on and started singing, my throat got all tight and closed up. It was like "aww... finally... she's here". My show seemed to be about like everybody else's... same songs, same audience that was more enthusiastic about her old songs than the MB songs. I'm not a big clapper, but I made sure I clapped after every song just to let them know I was glad they were there... with MB or not, I'll take Basia anyway I can get her. Whatever she wants to do (MB) is fine by me, I'm just glad she's back. My husband noticed stratchy nosies twice, but I did't notice them. And all night long it seemed to be hard to understand what they were singing... like if you didn't already know the lyrics, forget about it. That was the only negative I can remember. I guess it's a big negative if you think about it (not being able to understand the lyrics), but I didn't care... I was singing along with what I knew anyways. I was just happy she was back performing and I was there watching. As for Mark and MB... I got the new CD a few weeks ago and can't say I was too thrilled about it. I only liked a couple songs and the rest were just OK. But seeing a performance live is always so much better, and I enjoyed each song as they sung it. On the CD I didn't care much for Marks voice, but I enjoyed it much more during the show... he kinda grows on you. As for his quirky dancing, I loved it. That's one of the things I love so much about Peter White... he's a geek and doesn't know it... he just dances to his hearts content and doesn't care what anybody thinks about him. You can tell he's enjoying the heck outta himself while on stage. And Mark seemed to be the same way... he was enjoying himself and that always transcends to the audience. Besides, he was doing a better job of dancing than some of the people near me. All in all, a big two thumbs up! Joe - Those were some great pictures. I see from the stats that you have a very steady hand! I'm very jealous that you get to see her again in Orlando! Steve - I have no idea how long the Atlanta show was. Usually I have a very good sense of time, but for some reason time just seemed to fly and I never checked with reality! Thelma - like you I have found a new fondness for Golden Days after hearing it live. - Mike who's just daydreaming that I could scheme a trip to another concert stop on this tour. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Apr 2005 23:00:03 EDT From: JPovlock@aol.com Subject: Clearwater show I just got a call from my sister in Florida. JIMMY!!! IT WAS GREAT!! SHE WAS GREAT!! I LOVED SEEING HER AGAIN!! SHE BLEW AWAY THE CROWD WHEN SHE SANG TIME & TIDE!!! I don't have many other details, and my sister isn't on the list - her loss, as I keep telling her - but she said the crowd really showed its appreciation for Ms. T. I look forward to reading the rest of the reviews. Great song to listen to on the way to work at 5:45 in the AM DM&FS At 08:28 PM 4/25/2005, Somegirl99@aol.com wrote: >Phil P said: >Ummm...so since "Love is back" is incorrect, ummm.. what are the correct >words there?
