I hope you don't mind but since it's a dream set I carried it a little further. I'm making it a DREAM CONCERT with special guest appearances. Let's see what you think of this. First of all Basia would be backed by the Matt Bianco Band with Peter White. The venue is The Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA. Very cozy and intimate with great acoutics. She opens by doing a few of our favorites: 1-Promises 2-Cruising For Bruising 3-Copernicus Now Basia does a five minute monologue on Astrud and her influence on Basia's own career. 4-Astrud (at this point half-way thru the song Basia is joined onstage by Astrud Gilberto. Astrud sings a newly written verse of the song called "Basia") This verse waas written by none other than our own Leslie) The audience goes wild. 5-Waters Of March (duet Basia/Astrud) 6-Best Friends (duet Basia/Astrud) 7-Samba da uma Nota So (duet Basia/Astrud) after which Astrud takes a bow and departs. Basia continues alone with: 8-Until You Come Back To Me 9-Baby You're Mine 10-From Now On 11-Clear Horizon Then Basia departs the stage.... The band plays her off with a long version of Matt's Mood while Basia makes a "costume change". After the song the curtain closes for a fifteen minute intermission. When the curtain opens we see Sergio Mendes at keyboards, Basia standing at the mike with Lanny Hall. The band breaks into a spirited... 12-La Luna...afterwhich Sergio jokes that he should've received royalties on the song. They then do a medley of Brasill 66 songs with Basia and Lanny exchanging leads and doing duets.... 13-Mais Que Nada 14-Like A Lover 15-Pais Tropical 16-So Many Stars (Lanny Solo) 17-Pretty World...the finale of this portion. After Sergio and Lanny exit Basia returns to solos, beginning with... 18-The Sweetest Illusion 19-Drunk On Love 20-Simple Pleasures 21-New Day For You 22-Ordinary Day Basia takes her bow and she and the band exit stage right. The audience is standing and applauding wildly and yelling for an encore. They're shocked when they see the curtain close. The announcer asks everyone to remain at their seats. The audience becomes one huge anticipatory heartbeat. A few moments pass and finally the curtain reopens. We're stunned to see Basia front and center surrounded by the four members of The Manhattan Transfer. We all sit down and they proceed to thrill us with: 23-Boy From New York City with Basia and Janis Sigel playfully frolicking all over the stage. Doo wah diddy! 24-Agua de Beber (Tim Hauser and Basia ) 25-Capim (with great sax solo by Andrew Ross) 26-The show closes with a sweet Soulfood To Go. The audience is delerious by now and Basia thanks everyone for coming and promises to be back next year. That's it. Hey, you said "dream" so I did. Just be glad I only included the living in the concert. Next dream I'll resurrect Sinatra, Jobim and Ellis Regina. ~Joe~ In a message dated 4/18/05 7:34:18 PM Eastern Daylight Time, torgo1968@yahoo.com writes: > I was trying to think of what would constitute my > dream set.
