Maybe you didn't ACT that way at the concert, but the people who did have the same attitude as you. So you didn't act like a jerk at the concert, even though your attitude towards Mark, on this list, is rather negative. What do you want, a prize? I am tired of the whining about Mark. The concert was about the new album, with Basia's solo work as icing on the cake. Enjoy the icing and quit whining that it wasn't all icing. It should just make you appreciate Basia's solo work more, not to give some lame criticism about Basia being loyal to her bandmates. Have you any idea how difficult and tense things could get in the band, if Basia started acting like it was all about her? Geez. Give it a rest. > > --- Bill Roberts wrote: > > Based on the reports of fan rudeness towards Mark, I > > can well imagine that > > Basia was showing her loyalty and friendship with > > Mark. I thought it was great. Granted they did sing most of the new songs but then again thats what the tour is about. They need to generate interest in people buying their new CD. She sang about 5 of the oldies and got a standing ovation for each one. She was so gratified she almost cried. The only comment I could make is for her songs, Mark looked alittle silly just standing there dancing. I am happy I went and cant wait to go again. I hope this will generate interest with one of the recording labels maybe Sony and she will be back on her own again. denis with one "N" ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Apr 2005 21:20:29 -0700 (PDT) From: Leslie Osborn Subject: Earlier If you don't give two poos about OT personal posts, delete this now. I reread some of my posts from earlier today and I am amazed at how they so don't sound like me. Right now my work situation is such that I'm feeling completely demoralized and un-confident in anything I'm doing-- after my mag folded I applied for another job in the company, didn't get it, it went to someone who had no experience, and word was that "all the other candidates didn't have any talent." As a consolation prize I got the assistant job. I need to work obviously, but its a tough adjustment even without me having a crushed ego. So I have been coming here and doing the site because what's going on here is such a bright spot in a time when I'm not feeling so bright, and it makes me happy because my heroes are back in action! But today things were particularly difficult and when I came here and saw all the bad, (in my BasiaWeb email as well) I totally let myself get caught up. So, sorry about that. Admittedly there are some issues but I think I way overblew my opinions on them. I'm kind of embarrased actually. So, sorry. :-) Not that any of this matters in any picture bigger than my computer room ;-) but I felt like I had to say it anyway. I like Matt Bianco, seriously. I like Mark too and I'm looking forward to seeing him. We need to support these guys, if not for them Basia would still be inactive, and she wants to work this way, so that's good enough for me. And I hope future audiences will give Mark a better reception-- he deserves it, not many people would have the cojones to go on a tour KNOWING they are going to be the guy no one knows or even wants to see. - --Leslie O. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? No one should be boorish enough to act rudely at a concert. And I'd never condone such behavior. But we all have the right to pan what we didn't like...Basia or not, after we've paid to see the concert. Theat's when we become reviewers. What? We're supposed to be so grateful at seeing Basia that we swallow whatever she comes wrapped in? Of course she stands up for her band-mates. She's first class and that's what she should do. Good for her. I thank the reviewers out there who have given their honest opinions on the shows. We don't need to be misled by some blind allegience to Basia. Nor does she. One final word. In all honesty how many of you ever heard of Matt Bianco in 1985? That's what I thought. There's a reason for that. Just like there's a reason why you heard of Basia once she went solo. (Not that working with the gifted Danny White could be deemed "solo"). Like Basia's performance if you want. Dislike O'Reilly's performance if you want. After all, you are an adult right? ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V10 #87 ***************************
