Beside the horrible mix (soundman was addicted to reverb in unbearable quantities), I was dismayed at the reliance on MIDI sequencing/backing tracks. So much of the music was pre-recorded it was distracting. I don't see why they needed it with 12 musicians on stage. The musicianship was fine, however. They were using in-ear monitors as well, which makes it easier to keep the volume down on stage. O2L was beyond boring. Good musicians again, though. In all, It was nice to see Basia again. - --- Jeff Abrams maniac@mazdamaniac.com I bet the main reason the police keep people away from a plane crash is they don't want anybody walking in and lying down in the crash stuff, then, when somebody comes up, act like they just woke up and go, "What was THAT?!" - -----Original Message----- From: owner-basia@smoe.org [mailto:owner-basia@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Leslie Osborn Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2005 9:01 PM To: basia@smoe.org Subject: Headphones I wonder if this something that Basia was talking about on the Hey Now interview-- she said they were using a new technology in rehearsals that involved earpieces.
