I had promised to send in my report ASAP, and was happy to do so, but after sending it, nothing happened. Ticked me off, really. But I am glad it worked the second time. I wanted to add a few comments, but not until I knew the first one had made it. All of the musicians were excellent, for sure, but I was really blown away by Kevin. I had actually thought that on the recording of Matt's Mood (the song) the high pitched sound was being made on by Danny using the pitch bend wheel. My mouth dropped when Kevin began to play it! I was also unaware that he sang background vocals, as well. I was in heaven sitting so close to Danny, being a keyboard player meself. And to think that Peter is his brother. That's a ton of talent for one family. :) There was a man sitting next to me, who at one time pointed to me, and said something to his wife. I believe I know how the conversation went after thinking about it. Wife: I don't know any of these songs. Husband: HE does. I didn't look at a lot of them, but did notice a few names that are still members here. I saw Phil Hall and Juan in there. I know Leslie has been around a LONG time, and of course, Desianto and others. It amazed me how that people were antsy and even cranky back then, because there was nothing happening. And to think that the above mentioned (and others, as well) made it through all that, and kept the faith. I have to say that I am in awe of you guys, extremely dedicated men and women. I truly hope that every one of you who hung in there are vindicated by seeing Basia/MB in concert somewhere, sometime. You deserve no less than that. You guys (though) have GOT to feel pretty darn good right about now, regardless. From me to you, THANKS to all of you for keeping the torch lit, so that those of us who joined later could do so. As the commercial says it, what you have done is "priceless". :) Phil P. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2005 02:59:46 -0500 From: Max Wellhouse Subject: Re: sizing up Bullwinkle's band Hey Rock, Wanna see me pull a rabbit outta my hat? Awwh, that trick never works! ....nuttin' up m' sleeve........Presto!!!....(fill in the blank with your favorite punchline) DM&FS PS, I got to shake Jay Ward's hand in the Dudley DoRight Emporium in Hollywood back in the late 80's before he died. I think his wife still runs that shop, unless she, too, has passed on. Jay Ward was a very private man and rarely made public appearances, he just happened to be in there when I was. I didn't have the nads to ask for an autograph.
